INRTU Ranked Among Russia's Top 100 Universities (RAEX Agency)
RAEX Agency presented the 13th rating of the 100 best universities in Russia at the XII Annual Forum "The Future of Higher Education". INRTU was ranked among the top 100 best universities in the country (89th place).
As noted on the website of the Russian Union of Rectors, the list of the best included universities from 29 regions of the Russian Federation. There were noticeable changes in the top of the rating – only eight universities maintained their positions in the top 20.
There are also four newcomers in the rating, such as Krasnoyarsk State Medical University, Irkutsk National Research Technical University, Moscow Automobile and Road Construction State Technical University, and Ufa University of Science and Technology. The last time INRTU was included in this rating in 2017 at the 88th place.
The universities were evaluated according to several indicators – conditions for receiving quality education, demand of graduates, and research activities.
Lomonosov Moscow State University traditionally topped the top three of the rating. The second position was taken by Bauman Moscow State Technical University, which, according to RAEX, showed growth in almost all analyzed indicators.
As RAEX Director General Dmitry Grishankov notes, the priorities of higher education are changing, and today all initiatives are united by one thing – the focus on the protection of national interests:
"In the 2024 ranking, the universities that managed to quickly reorganize themselves according to the changing agenda have gained an advantage. Such aspects as strengthening ties with business and authorities, active development of applied research and expansion of cooperation channels with organizations of friendly countries are of particular importance".
According to RAEX, Russia's leading universities are actively increasing the number of students. The press release notes that during the reporting year the number of students at the top-100 participants increased by 4% (in the last edition of the rating the figure grew by 3.4%). The dynamics of the top-20 leaders is even more rapid – annual growth amounted to about 5%. The increase in the scale of training is mainly due to two factors – the increase in the number of budgetary places in "deficit" specialties (mainly engineering and technical), as well as the opening of new areas, which are expected to be in high demand in the economy.
