INRTU Offers Applicants to Apply For a New English-taught Bachelor’s Degree Program “Information Technologies in Earth and Environmental Sciences”
INRTU has opened admission for the new English-taught bachelor’s degree program “Information Technologies in Earth and Environmental Sciences”. It aims to train qualified IT-geo specialists for Russia, Asia, and Africa, equipping them to tackle a wide range of challenges in natural resource management.
A supervisor of the new program is Professor Alexander Parshin, a geoinformatics specialist with 20 years' experience implementing over 150 research and commercial projects globally. The program’s teaching staff are all practicing experts in their fields.

“My colleagues and I created a program that we’d be excited to take part in ourselves. It opens up vast opportunities for graduates in both life and career. This demanding curriculum requires serious, ambitious students ready for international projects.
Our future students must be involved in new technologies, and passionate about nature.
Graduates will be able to combine office-based work on developing new technologies with global field expeditions,” noted Alexander Parshin.
A cornerstone of the program is developing a groundbreaking understanding of the interplay between digital and physical realities in geological and environmental work. Over four years, students will gain practical IT skills in software and electronic hardware development, mathematical data analysis, and the fundamentals of designing robotic systems for Earth and aquatic research. Additionally, INRTU students will learn multidimensional geological environment modeling.
All students will have the opportunity to participate in commercial projects conducted by the Siberian School of Geosciences in Russia and abroad. This will allow them to gain substantial work experience in both Russian and global markets, learn to collaborate with professionals from diverse cultures, and take part in large-scale international research programs.
The program is designed to prepare graduates for successful careers in both resource-driven economies and environmentally focused markets. INRTU graduates are equipped with industry-recognized skills and hands-on mining sector experience, enabling them to skip junior roles and land mid-career positions. Furthermore, through partnerships with leading global universities, graduates will be able to enroll in the top master's programs and build international careers.
The admission office is open Monday to Friday (9 a.m.–5 p.m.). You can submit your documents via e-mail: admission@istu.edu.
