INRTU Military Training Center team took second place at the International Foreign Language Competition
INRTU Military Training Center team headed by Natalya Kirichenko, associate professor of the School of Linguistics and Intercultural Communication, took the second place among the civilian universities at the International Foreign Language Competition among university cadets.
The International Competition in Foreign Languages was held on March 26-31 on the basis of Military University of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation named after Alexander Nevsky (Moscow). INRTU students Maxim Bogdashov, Artyom Titayev and Nikita Vashchuk, third-year students of the School of Information Technology and Data Science represented Irkutsk Technical University.
INRTU students were honored to visit the university, included in the book of records of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation for the largest number of cadets - participants in military operations, who received government awards. In addition, 45 foreign languages are studied at this university and this is the largest number among the universities of the Ministry of Defense and all civilian universities. The study of foreign languages is becoming especially relevant nowadays, as the country needs specialists capable of applying this knowledge in technical and humanitarian cooperation.
According to the team head, INRTU students represented their university with dignity, demonstrating a high level of knowledge of a foreign language, persistence in the struggle and honesty.
"Forty teams with a total of 120 participants took part in the competition devoted to military medicine. Competitive events were organized in four rounds, so the event program was quite intense. During several days the students had to solve difficult competitive tasks, maximally concentrating their intellectual and creative forces. The program also included a tour of the Main Temple of the Armed Forces and the museum complex "The Road of Memory", - said Natalia Kirichenko.
"There were difficult but interesting tasks at the competition. Not only knowledge of English, but also knowledge of medicine in general and military medicine in particular was examined. The most memorable was the oral competition, which was held in the form of a training session, where participants took turns in the role of teachers and students. As a team we worked cohesively and took a long time to prepare. Thanks to our teacher we were able to perform at a high level", said Maxim Bogdashov, sharing his impressions.
The International Competition became an important event in life of students, allowed them to get acquainted not only with a hard life of military men, but also get new knowledge and experience as well as new friends.
