INRTU Linguistics Students Are Winners of the International Festival "Unity in Friendship"

INRTU students Gurbangul Alymjanova and Dilber Akmukhammedova took second place in the video contest of the International Festival "Unity in Friendship". The event was held on October 13-15 at the People’s Friendship University of Russia named after Patrice Lumumba with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

According to Alla Antonova, the Head of the Department of Russian Language Didactics, the festival, held as a creative and intellectual hub, brought together students fr om Russia and abroad. The event was aimed at strengthening intercultural relations and getting acquainted with the best practices of student associations for the socio-cultural adaptation of foreigners in educational institutions.

INRTU was represented by second-year students Gurbangul Alymjanova and Dilber Akmukhammedova, who are mastering the program "Russian Language and Intercultural Communication". On the first day of the festival, they spoke at the pitch session "Unity in Action: Learning, Creating, Communicating", wh ere they showed a presentation about the university and talked about themselves.

The next day, Gurbangul and Dilber went to the master class "Content Workshop: Speak Confidently, Shoot Beautifully". They learned how to find interesting ideas, write a plot and create videos that attract the attention of viewers. After a few creative classes, the participants, divided into five teams, were given the task to create a video project on the topic "Friendship". Each author showed creativity, putting their own ideas, stories and emotions into the work. The best works were determined through online voting on social networks.

According to its results, the second place was taken by the team "Elite", in which Dilber and Gurbangul worked. The winners were awarded valuable prizes and gifts.

The festival program was complemented by a concert, where creative teams of the RUDN International Cultural Center "Interclub" performed.

Gurbangul Alymjanova thanks INRTU and teachers for the chance to participate in such an event, which allows them to demonstrate their knowledge and abilities:

"Thank you very much for your support! I hope that in the future we will meet the expectations and trust of the university."

Dilber Akmukhammedova agrees with that, adding that the trip was a very positive experience:

"I enjoyed working in an international team and discussing new ideas. Thanks to the festival, I learned to interact effectively in an international environment and not be afraid of public speaking, and also got new friends from all over the world."

It should be noted that INRTU students were accompanied by Daria Vasileva, senior lecturer of the Department. In her opinion, the festival has become a large-scale hub for intercultural dialogue, which is especially valuable in working with youth from other countries.

"I’d like to note that the program was packed and well-thought-out. The master classes resonated deeply with the students. The acquired skills will certainly be useful in their educational and extracurricular activities. I believe holding such festivals important for the socio-cultural adaptation of foreign students," Daria Vasileva emphasizes.
