INRTU Is Among the Top 5 Russian Universities Represented In the GreenMetric World Rankings 2024

INRTU was ranked 180 out of 1,477 universities in the world (95 countries) according to the GreenMetric World Rankings 2024. Since 2022, INRTU has been holding the fifth place among 50 "green" higher education institutions in Russia.

The university scored the highest number of points in "Energy & Climate Change" (1850), "Education & Research" (1750), "Transportation" (1500), “Setting & Infrastructure” (1225). In the categories of "Waste" and "Water", INRTU scored 1050 and 750 respectively. The total score was 8125 points.

INRTU was first recognized in the global ranking in 2017. During this time, it rose from 558 to 180th place, which indicates the effective work of the university in the field of sustainable development. INRTU graduates bachelors, masters and PhD students whose professional activities are focused on ensuring environmental safety. In partnership with industrial companies, domestic and foreign universities, the university implements research projects aimed at reducing the anthropogenic impact on the environment. For example, together with Harbin Institute of Technology, the International Center for Clean Water was founded.

GreenMetric is a ranking of universities striving for sustainability of campuses engaged in environmental protection. Universities included in the ranking implement the latest achievements of science and technology in their energy efficiency strategy, conduct research and implement relevant educational programs. GreenMetric has been published since 2010 at the initiative of the University of Indonesia.
