INRTU first-year students visited Group of Companies «Forus»
INRTU first-year students visited GC «Forus». This company is a provider of advanced IT solutions on the regional market. INRTU students learned how to build a career in IT and how to use digital technologies for logistics operations and document authentication.
INRTU has been cooperating with GC «Forus» for over 10 years. Almost a half of the company's employees are INRTU graduates. The university and the company jointly implement a master's program «Corporate Information Systems. Innovative Methods and Platforms».
According to the tour organizer, Roman Kononenko, associate professor of the School of Information Technology and Data Science, 16 first-year bachelor’s students who mastered the intellectual systems of information processing and management were invited at GC «Forus» in October. A master's student Fedor Deryugin accompanied them to the enterprise. INRTU students learned about the main activities of the company and the requirements for employment candidates. The meeting at the company’s head office was held by Andrey Kanter, Director of Innovation and Work with Educational Institutions of the GC «Forus» and Professor of Practice at INRTU.
Nowadays, GC «Forus» is engaged in a full cycle of sales, development, implementation and maintenance of software products developed on a platform «1C». Andrey Kanter, who has been working at GC «Forus» since 2010, is the head of the Research and Development Laboratory.
INRTU student Nikolay Bairbiliktuyev shared his impressions. According to him, the students paid special attention to questions of employment at «Forus». It is possible to get a job in the company on any year of study at the University. But second-year students and senior students are in priority. At first, a student's monthly income will be comparable to a stipend.
«It's not worth getting upset about the small salary at the beginning of the career. First of all, you will gain valuable professional experience. In about two years, the income can increase to 100 thousand rubles. However, it is important to keep in mind that the work will be responsible and hard. According to Andrey Kanter, every year the company intakes interns, but no more than five people are left. Those who meet the management's requirements can be involved in serious projects, including those supported by PJSC «Gazprom». I want to do an internship at «Forus».
Andrey Aleksandrov was also interested in the tour. The student was especially impressed by the story about using IT-technologies in logistics. Andrey consider an internship at «Forus» as he is confident in his knowledge. In school he was interested in the exact sciences, paying a lot of attention to the study of algorithm, a basic concept in computer science. Now the student receives a monthly governor's scholarship as well as a scholarship from the rector of INRTU.
