INRTU Delegation Took Part in "Songolt-2026" Education Exhibition in Mongolia

INRTU employees took part in the exhibition of Russian education "Songolt-2026". The event took place at the Russian House in Ulaanbaatar on October 16-17. INRTU students told Mongolian schoolchildren, parents and young professionals about educational programs, university admission rules and life on campus.

The event was held as part of the Days of Mongolian-Russian Friendship and Cooperation, dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries. The event brought together representatives of 14 universities of Russia. INRTU was represented by Daria Zandraeva, the Head of the International Admission Office, and Bayaraa Tsenguun, a student from School of Economics, Management and Law.

According to Daria Zandraeva, the participation of INRTU in such events of the Russian House in Mongolia is a long-standing tradition. The university regularly joins exhibitions, language Olympiads and cultural projects. This time visitors got acquainted with INRTU’s educational programs. Also, INRTU employees advised them on admission, documents preparation, learning Russian and dormitories.

"Our exhibition stand was visited by many parents and high schoolers – students of Mongolian and Mongolian-Russian joint schools. The students asked about IT areas, specialties related to mining and oil and gas business, geology and mechanical engineering. Also, the stand drew interest from young professionals who want to move up the career ladder. They were interested in applying for a master's degree.

For INRTU, "Songolt-2026" is an opportunity to communicate directly with future students, telling them about studying in Irkutsk. Such meetings not only support the interest of Mongolian youth in Russian education, but also develop cooperation between the university and partners in Mongolia," Daria Zandraeva says.

She stressed that special attention at the exhibition was paid to the topic of admission under the Russian Government quota for the upcoming academic year. For Mongolian applicants, this is an opportunity to get a higher education at a Russian university at the expense of the federal budget. This year, 62 students from Mongolia were enrolled in INRTU under this quota.

It should be added that on October 17, a festival was held in Ulaanbaatar, timed to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Russian House. INRTU Rector Mikhail Korniakov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs Stepan Bykov and Daria Zandraeva were awarded in honor of the anniversary. The awards were handed over to Daria by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Mongolia, Aleksey Evsikov.
