“Art Ceramics of the Polytech” Exhibition Opens at INRTU Technopark
For the first time, INRTU is hosting a professional exhibition of art ceramics. Clay takes center stage, bringing together ceramic artists, sculptors, designers, and art critics.
As noted by Dmitrii Dorokhin, Head of the Department of Monumental and Decorative Painting and Design named after V.G. Smagin, the idea of organizing an exhibition of original works by instructors specializing in art ceramics has been in development for a long time.
“The exhibition is a natural continuation of our creative work, whose ultimate goal is to reach the audience. 2025 is an anniversary year for our university and the School of Architecture, Construction and Design. This year also marks 25 years since the first graduating class of the Monumental and decorative arts program. The exhibition is dedicated to these memorable dates”.
The exhibition has a retrospective character. The selection of presented works is quite broad, spanning from academic sculpture to porcelain painting. The exhibition introduces the polytechnic community to artists who have worked, or continue to work, with clay: Georgy Borisov, Anna Lukyanova, Aleksandr Vinogradov, Alexey Gusev, Irina Dyachenko, Daria Ibragimova, Olga Kopyonkina, Ekaterina Pobedash, and Andrei Polyanitsa.
“Working plastically with clay has its own particularities – here, both hands are fully engaged, like when playing a musical instrument. The audience at INRTU usually sees the works of painters from our department, both students and instructors, at thematic and personal exhibitions. We also organize exhibitions of designers’ project work. Now, the polytechnic community has the opportunity to explore different facets of ceramic and sculptural art,” said Dmitrii Dorokhin. The Department of Monumental and Decorative Painting and Design named after V.G. Smagin invites INRTU students and staff to visit the ceramic art exhibition in the INRTU Technopark lobby.
