Educational practice: introductory practice

The purpose of the internship is to familiarize students with modern mining machinery and equipment used in the exploration industry. The objectives of the practice are to study the classification, design and
arrangement of mining machinery and equipment.

The goal of mastering the discipline

Students gain primary understanding of the mineral resources of the region; the influence of geological and mining conditions on the choice of basic technological solutions; technologies for mining minerals by underground and open methods; automation and mechanization of mining; processing of minerals; labor organization and management of production, assortment and nomenclature of products.

The skills you get

  • The student is able to apply the basic principles of technology and provide technical guidance for mining and blasting operations in the search, exploration and development of solid mineral deposits, construction and operation of underground facilities, and directly manage processes at production facilities, including in emergency situations.

Topics covered

  • 1. The shadow stage. Study of safety issues and internal regulations at the enterprise. The study of the geology of the deposit, the main provisions of the development project, general information about the state and prospects of development, technology, mechanization, electrification and organization of production, technical and economic indicators. 2. Field stage. Familiarization with production processes and mining technology directly at mining enterprises. Underground mining operations: General information about the structure of an underground mining enterprise; Development system; Technological complex and surface equipment; Equipment repair; Maintenance of production equipment; Production management issues. Open-pit mining: General information about the structure of an open-pit mining enterprise; General organization of work; Basic electromechanical equipment of the quarry; Dump operations; Maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment of the quarry; Maintenance
