Kebe Sally Estelle
Students, Preparatory Course (Russian as a Foreign Language)
Hello I am Estelle, I come from the Ivory Coast. I am 26 years old. I arrived in Irkutsk on November 14, 2021 to study Russian language.
I have a huge advantage in studying Russian course because it allowed me to develop my abilities of concentration, memorization, creative and analytical. My Russian lessons are going very well.
I can't find any fault in the process of teaching Russian language since I arrived. The teachers try to teach us about Russian culture, traditions, and language. As for the teaching methods, I find that they do not captivate all the students, not because they have defects, because the new generation tends to combine fun and study to succeed. Therefore, in order to ensure that our training or those who will come in the following years, I propose that we have audio courses, audio films, conversations from Russian to Russian, to be listened to in class and to be interpreted according to the level of each class and then to evaluate the student, as well as Russian songs to be memorized, to be sung in front of everyone, and to be evaluated on that. I think the purpose of Russian language courses is to be able to communicate fluently without interruption, hence the idea of songs to force the memory to record the words of the song, to understand what we are talking about, to have fun above all so no stress and to rely on these songs or audios to speak the Russian language correctly.
INRTU is a school of future engineers and innovators and when I arrived I found out that it is true and the level of the University is really high. You know, nothing beats the African heat but Irkutsk is taking a place in my heart in a very fast way, from the beauty of the city to the warmth of the teachers, to the small gesture of affection, the smile of the inhabitants of Irkutsk. I really appreciate the traditional Russian festivals, they have fun and they are able to transmit it totally. This is one of the main reasons why I like Irkutsk very much.
After graduating from preparatory course I would like to become an expert in the field of construction and design and I would like to do this training at INRTU as a PhD or Master degree student.

Students, Beginning Russian as a Foreign Language
Russian language is the one of the most spoken languages in the world so I have decided to enroll INRTU and start to study Russian language there. Knowing Russian language improve employment prospectus and give a lot of opportunities.
The direct method is that teaching is done entirely in Rissian language and you have a practice from the beggining of your studies.
Irkutsk is a welcoming city with an active youth culture, quiet and frindly, with lot of museums and intersting places which help to know long and rich cultural history of Russia and Sibiria.

"Nothing is impossible! Whatever you want, whoever you are, never give up."
My name is Saijon, I am from Uzbekistan. I study electric power and electrical engineering at INRTU. The reason why I choose this educational program is that I want to become a good power engineer. Therefore, I have always been interested in power engineering and the program at INRTU corresponds to my dream. My favorite subjects are relay protection and automation, power quality and the foreign language. At first it was a bit difficult because of the different culture, because the Russian culture is very rich and interesting. But now everything is fine. The university is such a beautiful and cool place for self-realization.

Hello, friends! My name is Muhammad, I am from the Republic of Uzbekistan. I want to share my story with you. Since childhood, I dreamed of going abroad and studying. In 2014 my dream came true, I entered INRTU and came to Irkutsk. Despite the difficulties of the Russian language, the study of courses and the Russian language was easy, because responsive teachers and friendly classmates helped a lot. During my studies, I participated in many chess tournaments and won some prizes. In addition to sports, I was engaged in scientific activities and was a member of a scientific society. I spoke at conferences, seminars with reports on various topics.
In a nutshell, thanks to INRTU for revealing my capabilities, it was here that I received unique knowledge, competencies and invaluable experience that came in handy after my studies.
My advice to future students - as the famous Bear Grylls said, improvise, adapt, overcome!

Yonas Abebe
Students, Beginning Russian as a Foreign Language
My name is Yonas Abebe, I am from Ethiopia, I'm starting my Russian Language online while I am waiting for my invitation letter. I will come to Irkutsk soon and I wish to study my Master degree in Gobal Management and Leadership here at INRTU.
Learning Russian Language has many benefits: it’s one of the most spoken languages in the world, and more than 260 million people around the world speak it. Russian is the 8th most spoken language in the world. Knowing the Russian language improves my international employment prospects in addition to knowing the Russian culture and traditions. It also let me sympathize with the people who speak it – both Russian speakers in Russia and in my own city. I might also establish professional relationships or forge new friendships. Making Russian-speaking friends is one of the best ways to learn Russian idiomatic expressions and slang! In trying to learn Russian, I will encounter people who share the love of Russian that I will come to have.
Nowdays Russia's economic is booming at the turn of the century. This has led to more and more companies seeking qualified employees who can speak and write in Russian. Having Russian mastery on my resume makes me stand out internationally.
Basically learning second language needs more time and day to day engagements to understand it better, especially it needs face to face learning methodology. Thanks to technologies! Now we are attending the classes through different social media like whatsapp, zoom and Skype. so as much as possible we are learning in better way. The teacher try to take the role of coordinator in meaningful communications such as role-play, information sharing, and problem-solving. With the help of the audio-lingual as well as the direct online learning interaction methods we are doing well. I wish I will be able to attend classes in campus very soon!
As I have got different information about the university, it have different advantage for international students, it serves 18,000 students including 1,500 foreign students from 40 counties. Irkutsk is a youth city with every 5th resident being a student and its geographical location is far from 70 kilometers from Baikal city. Also I do have a plan to learn my masters program and it have a lot of advantages to continue studying here, like affordable price, qualified teaching staff and convenient campus location.
Russia has a fascinating culture, I can learn a lot about Russian culture through its literature and language. What bookworm wouldn’t love to be able to read Tolstoy, Dostoyevsky and Pushkin in the language they actually wrote in? Learning Russian will allow me to understand the complexity of this culture. The Russian language has many nuances lacking in English. Russian music is another way the culture manifests itself. From traditional music to the slightly more contemporary, Red Army Choir and the Romantic music movement, music has always played a large role in Russian identity.
My aspiration upon graduation of the language class is basically to attend my second degree in Irkutsk, Russia, so I have ambition to learn seriously and to know the language well, it would be my asset to understand the country's culture, traditions, norms and so. Being able to communicate and graduate in the Russian language opens up more knowledge and wisdom on my next life.

Students, Beginning Russian as a Foreign Language
My name is Mekbib Tilaneh Chernet. I am from Ethiopia, Adddis Ababa.
I will get numerous benefits from studying Russian language course. To begin with, it’s one of the most spoken languages in the world. There are around 270 million Russian speakers in the world. So knowing the Russian language paved the way for career and business opportunities. For example, translating/interpreting between Russian and another language means that I could work not only for the private sector, but also for public services in my native country or my embassy/consulate in a Russian-speaking country, or even for an international organization, like the UN. Next, Russia is home to some of the world's finest traditions in the arts. Ballet, theater, cinema and literature. That means I will discover the rich culture and history of the country. And as a person who values history and literature I will enjoy the original works of Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Gorky, Pushkin, Mayakovski etc. In addition I will broaden my social circle and make new friends. Beyond this studying of Russian will help me enter post-graduate programs.
The online class I am taking in my home town until I move to Irkutsk is going well. What I like from the teaching process and method is the teacher shows for the student the 4 skills of the language in every single lesson.
Irkutsk Research technical university is a leading university in Eastern Siberia and it gives a wide range of higher education and vocational training courses. It is widely known that generosity, resilience, hospitality and strength are Russian cultural values.
My aspiration upon graduation of Russian language courses is to continue my higher education in the field of management.

Students, Journalism, 2021
Hello! I studied for 4 years at the Department of "Advertising and Journalism", INRTU. Memories of the department are the most positive. Good quality of education. The dean's office is excellent, they help students in every possible way. Teachers are kind and present their subjects in an accessible way, strict, but honest and adequate, always ready to meet the student in a difficult situation. The opportunity to engage in extracurricular activities: scientific, creative, sports. I advise everyone to enroll and study in this department.

While there’s can be a bit of a big learning curve, getting out of your own country to see somewhere new is almost always worth the struggle.
When I had the opportunity to study at INRTU, I’ve chosen to pursue my long-held dream of becoming a designer. I’m studying graphic design and my experience in school was very positive, I focus on designing, experimenting, shooting photography, arrange typography, building things, illustrating, etc. Teachers give us space to be creative and at the same time, guiding the development of creativity. They’re patient and constructive when I was struggle to understand Russian language.
I still remember my first Russian language teacher. She is a nice lady with warm charming voice remind me of my grandmother, she introduced me to Russian folklores, sweet tea marina jam and blini pancake, … it's the small subtle things that teach me about the culture of people here.
Immersed in a new environment, surrounded by new people and able to experience a different way of life, I find myself acquiring knowledge every day. In my dormitory, I meet many new friends not just Russian but from many different countries, I’ve even learned how to introduce myself in Arabic. I acquired cooking skill and teach myself how to cook dishes from all over the world.
Every day at university, I encounter something new and exciting. Going to university isn’t just about studying, I have learned to balance my work-life ratio. There is time to study, and time to take up other activities. INRTU has sports teams and societies that we can get involved with. Every weekend I go out with friends.
There’s restaurants, markets, pubs, and other entertainment, everything I need are within walking distance, food outlets, grocery shops, Post Office, banks, street markets, cafés, gymnastic and sports facilities, ... Most societies will regularly arrange social events free to participate at Campus.
Though 5 years sound long, it seems like just yesterday I pack my stuff and left my home country. There're still a lot of things I haven't try and may places I haven't visit in this big city of Siberia, but the experiences I had here with friends along the way is beyond price.
