Jugderdemidiin Gurragchaa met with Mogolian students at INRTU

INRTU hosted a meeting between cosmonaut Jugderdemidiin Gurragchaa and Mongolian students and diplomats on March 29. The special guest shared his experience of the flight and described the challenges that cosmonauts face in space. About 60 Mongolian students from Irkutsk Technical University, Baikal State University, Irkutsk State Medical University, Irkutsk State Transport University, and Irkutsk State Agrarian University named after A.A. Ezhevsky participated in the meeting.

It should be noted that earlier the Mongolian cosmonaut met with the students of the Irkutsk region. The event was organized in occasion of "The Cup of Two Lakes" bandy tournament. The matches are dedicated to the 42nd anniversary of the Soviet-Mongolian space flight. Jugderdemidiin Gurragchaa is the head of the organizational committee of the competition.

According to INRTU Rector Mikhail Korniakov, the meeting with the cosmonaut is a great opportunity to learn about the research projects implemented by Soviet and Mongolian specialists.

General Consul of Mongolia in Irkutsk Jigmediin Enkhjargal addressed to the students and stressed the importance of being able to set and achieve goals.

The students were shown videos about the Soviet-Mongolian space flight during the meeting. After watching the video, Jugderdemidiin Gurragchaa shared his experience. He focused on the research tasks of the crew.

Vladimir Dzhanibekov, Hero of the Soviet Union, greeted the audience via video link. He congratulated the participants and organizers of "The Cup of Two Lakes".

Mongolian students asked the famous compatriot questions about the effects of zero-gravity on health and preparation for flights. The most active students got the souvenirs from Roscosmos.

A souvenir was given to Battugs Lhagvabaatar, a student of Irkutsk State Medical University, who asked about the adaptation of the cosmonauts on Earth.

"At the end of the meeting, Jugderdemidiin Gurragchaa addressed us in Mongolian language. He said that we have to become highly qualified specialists. The words of such a great man are inspiring. My dream is to follow my grandfather's footsteps. He got education in Siberia, and then worked as a military surgeon in Ulaanbaatar."

Lkhagvajav Mungunshuuder, INRTU second-year student and future architect, shared her impressions. She said that she entered Irkutsk Technical University to learn modern design technologies. Mungunshuuder knows the biography of the Mongolian cosmonaut from TV shows. The student was very happy to meet the national hero.
