INRTU Vice-Rector for International Affairs Stepan Bykov Spoke at the Conference Dedicated to the 50th Anniversary of the Mongolroscvetmet Company

The event dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Mongolroscvetmet Company is aimed at strengthening cooperation in mining and heavy industry based on the strong friendship between the Mongolian and Russian peoples. For many years, INRTU has been training highly qualified personnel for the mining industry of Mongolia.

Vice-Rector Stepan Bykov's visit to Ulaanbaatar began with a visit to the Russian Embassy in Mongolia and a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Mongolia Alexey Evsikov. The parties discussed prospects for the development of projects to support the Russian language in Mongolia, as well as personnel training for the energy and mining industries.

The scientific and practical conference was held in the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Ulaanbaatar. Stepan Bykov visited the historical exposition of the photo exhibition "Mongolrosсvetmet - 50 years" and took part in the panel discussion "Half a Century of Mongolrosсvetmet: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow". The Vice-Rector informed his colleagues about the projects in the field of energy, which INRTU is implementing together with the Mongolian side. He also informed about the training areas available at INRTU, based on the quota places offered in the majors 21.05.04 "Mining Engineering" and 22.03.02 "Metallurgy".

"We are always looking forward to new joint training projects with our Mongolian colleagues. We are going to further develop our strategic partnership with Mongolroscvetmet as we see the need for qualified specialists in the field of mining and non-ferrous metallurgy in Mongolia," said Stepan Bykov.

The scientific and practical conference was attended by more than 150 people, more than 40 of them came from Russia. The first President of Mongolia P. Ochirbat and the Deputy Minister of Mining and Heavy Industry of Mongolia B. Uyanga, the Co-Chairman of the Working Group on Industrial Cooperation of the Russian-Mongolian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation were the honorary participants of the anniversary meeting. 

Also, among the guests there were the trade representative of the Russian Federation in Mongolia M. Vasiliev, the acting head of the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Mongolia (Russian House in Ulaanbaatar) V. Kilpyakova, employees of Russian companies. Kilpyakova, employees of Russian companies JSC "NPO RIVS", JSC "Zarubezhgeologia", JSC "Halopolymer", En+, JSC "Gazprombank", JSC "UBZhD", KOO "Kalakspar", representatives of the East Siberian State University of Technology and Management (VSGUTU).

In June 2023, employees of the INRTU School of Subsurface Resource Management presented Mongolroscvetmet with a memorable gift in honor of the 50th anniversary - a jade panel depicting the landscape of the two countries. The gift was made by students and staff of the Department of Jewelry Design and Technology.
