INRTU Vice-Rector Stepan Bykov Receives Honorary Diploma of the Ministry of Education and Science of Mongolia

Stepan Bykov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of INRTU, was awarded the Diploma of the Ministry of Education and Science of Mongolia. In the welcoming letter the Vice-Rector's contribution to the development of joint projects with Mongolia in the field of science and education was emphasized.

According to Stepan Bykov, it is an honor to receive an award fr om the Ministry of Education and Science of Mongolia:

“INRTU is actively working in the Mongolian direction. We implement joint educational programs, cultural and sports events, actively cooperate with scientific organizations of the country”.

In 2021, INRTU started cooperation with Mongolian Finance and Economics University in the field of joint educational programs. In September 2022, the Russian and Mongolian universities opened enrollment for English-language programs in artificial intelligence and economics.

The program in IT technologies implies that two years of study take place on the basis of the Mongolian university, wh ere they master information systems. Artificial intelligence and computer science students study in their third and fourth years at INRTU.

Last September, INRTU and the Mongolian Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature signed a memorandum of mutual understanding providing for joint research, scientific conferences, and academic exchange.

The professional retraining program “Russian Philology: Modern Approaches to Education” is based at INRTU. The aim of the training is to improve the communication skills of Mongolian students studying pedagogy and linguistics.

“In addition to projects aimed at popularizing the Russian language in Mongolia, INRTU trains engineering personnel. Most Mongolian students master professions in the field of subsoil use and energy at our university. Graduates hold leading positions in Mongolian enterprises.

In addition, with the financial support of En+, the university trains Mongolians in such areas as electric power and heat power engineering,” explains Stepan Bykov.

INRTU actively participates in cultural and public initiatives of its Mongolian colleagues. For example, as part of the Days of Mongolian-Russian Friendship, the university delegation held Olympiads for schoolchildren, classes for Russian language teachers, and the creative teams “Kalina” and “Steps” gave concerts.

In March 2024 Stepan Bykov joined the conference dedicated to the 50th anniversary of “Mongolrosvetmet”. During the visit, the Vice-Rector also met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Mongolia Alexey Evsikov.

Stepan Bykov said that the university and foreign colleagues are making big plans for further cooperation. The next joint event is a summer school for Russian language teachers from Mongolia. The initiative is timed to coincide with the International Day of the Russian Language, which is celebrated on June 6, the birthday of Alexander Pushkin.
