INRTU students won 47 awards at national and district competitions in 2022

Sports Club and Department of Physical Education of INRTU summed up the results of the year 2022. Last year the INRTU staff successfully represented the university at the national and regional tournaments, winning 20 gold medals, 14 silver medals and 13 bronze medals.

There are 22 national teams at INRTU, involving almost 400 students. Polytechnic students are fond of ball hockey, boxing, badminton, basketball, volleyball, chess, swimming and other sports.

There are 52 candidates for the master of sports, eight students of INRTU have the honorary title "Master of Sports of the Russian Federation". In 2022 Alexander Khudeyev and Boris Mansurov, students of School of High Technologies, completed the corresponding standards.

Evgeny Smirnov, member of the Union of Composers of Russia and founder of the show band "Mimino", wrote the INRTU Sports Anthem. The composition with a catchy refrain is accompanied by a drum part performed by the "Ethnobit" studio. The university teams are invited to compose their own verses reflecting different sports.

Polytechnic boxers were pleased with outstanding results. Orudzh Mamedov, a student of the Geological Exploration Technical School, won the National Student Boxing League competition in Grozny. Maria Khuzakhmetova and Oleg Moshkirev won medals at the VIII national Summer Universiade.

The INRTU cross-country skiing team competed for the medals at the 7th National Winter Universiade, the first winter festival of mass sports of the Association of Student Sports Clubs of Russia.

In summer undergraduates of School of Subsurface Resource Management Victoria Kozhan and Arina Nagornaya became silver medalists of the National beach volleyball competition in Anapa. Future programmer Ekaterina Kruk won "gold" in a large-scale powerlifting tournament, which was held in Tambov.

Students also showed excellent results in various types of martial arts. For example, Polytechnic student Denis Volokhov won "gold" of the national karate competition Marshal Pokryshkin Cup in autumn.
