INRTU student Shokhrukh Khushvaktov successfully finished internship at «Uzbekistan Airways» in Tashkent

Shokhrukh Khushvaktov, a student of the School of Aircraft Construction, Mechanical Engineering and Transport at INRTU, successfully finished his internship at «Uzbekistan Airways» in Tashkent. The student mastered modern methods of repair and maintenance of Boeing and Airbus aircraft

According to Olesya Makarova, a specialist of INRTU Career Center, foreign students may practice both in foreign and Russian companies (except for secure facilities of the Russian Federation). Students from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan prefer to intern in home country. If foreign students go to an enterprise on a strictly scheduled date, the university can reimburse the transportation costs. Shokhrukh Khushvaktov became the first INRTU student who completed an internship at «Uzbekistan Airways».

«Shokhrukh is a successful and diligent student, he receives an increased scholarship. «A-Technics» which is one of the major Russian aircraft maintenance provider was ready to accept him for internship at Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport. However, Shokhrukh chose a company in his home country and sent a request to «Uzbekistan Airways» on his own. His candidacy was approved, so he signed a contract with the airline,» - said Olesya Makarova.

According to Shokhrukh Khushvaktov, «Uzbekistan Airways Technics LLC» («UAT») is a structural subunit of state air carrier JSC «Uzbekistan Airways», which has almost 100 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of aircraft and engines. The facility, located near Tashkent airport, has over 300 employees.

Shokhrukh worked in a shop for maintenance and repair of western-made aircraft components. The intern was ensured safe working conditions. A mentor helped him to adapt to the workplace.

«The shop services Boeing and Airbus aircraft. I gained useful experience, for example, I watched engineers repairing an air intake of a Boeing 767 engine. First of all, they figured out a cause of the defect. As it turned out, the dent was caused by a collision with a bird. Then the colleagues worked with the «Structure Repair Manual» (SRM), which describes permissible damage and ways of repairing unacceptable defects», - said the student.

Shokhrukh emphasized that he got acquainted with a lot of new aircraft and modern technology.

According to information of International Affairs Department at INRTU, 384 students from Uzbekistan get higher education. There are 269 full-time students, 115 students chose extramural studies.
