INRTU’s employee Evgenia Smorzh led a tour and workshop for children at the exhibition "Time to Be Yourself"

The exhibition “Time to Be Yourself” continues to run in Irkutsk. The creative project combines the paintings, panels and jewelries, which were made in the fusion technique. Last Saturday, a tour of the exhibition and a master class for kids were held at the Regional Museum of the Local Lore.

The project “Time to be Yourself” brings together about 40 works, which were created by the 'Three Threads' creative group (Evgeniya Smorzh, Ekaterina Skachkova and Daria Evstropova).

The artists merged as a group about a year ago. "The Three Threads" is a symbol of creating their own space of being around them.

“"Time to Be Yourself” is our first joint project. There are many works with a creative message, on the themes of family values and female beauty. The title of the exhibition carries philosophical undertone. It deals with a complex theme of social games and masks, that people have to try on in their lives. While we follow these rules it is important to be able to remain yourself.

We hope that viewers will ask themselves some deep questions. They will probably ask themselves - who am I, what do I live for, what makes me happy? The answers to these questions lie in the paintings and jewelries. There are the moments of happiness and joy, moments of contemplation of nature," says the teacher of the University.

The artist exhibited paintings in oil and acrylic, fusing and hot enamel. One of the works named “Lena” is dedicated to the theme of overcoming oneself in a critical life situation.

The canvas “No smoking” was created in the pop-art style. This expressive work is about the self-expression of a creative person and his acute reaction to injustice and social problems.

Another member of the trio is Daria Evstropova, a graduate of the Department of Monumental and Decorative Painting and Design. She prefers to work with a variety of techniques and materials. Visitors will be attracted by the panel “The Red Turtle”, which successfully combines pottery and painter's talent.

Some of the pieces are made from metal, pellets of glass and wood found on the shore of Lake Baikal. Each piece of jewelry has a special "natural warmth" and ethnic motifs. For example, the "Time of Silence" reminds us of the ice and icicles of the winter caves of Baikal.

Ekaterina Skachkova completes the alliance of authors by presenting a collection of women's jewelry. These are earrings, necklaces and pendants made of metal and decorated with inserts of natural semi-precious stones. The author seeks inspiration from images of animals and plants.

The exhibition will run until March 27 in the Museum studio of the Regional Museum of Local Lore: 13 Karla Marksa St. Phone for enquiries: +7 (3952) 20-03-68.
