INRTU Develops Mongolian School Teachers' Advanced Training-related Projects

While in Mongolia, the INRTU delegation agreed on the main parameters of the new advanced training program to be implemented jointly with the Mongolian National University of Education (MNUE).

INRTU has been hosting summer schools for Russian language teachers since 2022. The interstate cooperation project is promoted by the Mongolian Association of Teachers of the Russian Language and Literature. More than 50 teachers have already improved their qualifications.

Within the Mongolian-Russian Friendship Days, the INRTU delegation visited aimags to hold Olympiads for schoolchildren and classes for Russian language teachers. The Kalina and the Shagi creative teams also joined the tour in Mongolia.

Vice-Rector for International Affairs of INRTU Stepan Bykov noted that the eventful program was largely supported by the Mongolian Association of Teachers of the Russian Language and Literature and its Vice-President Sosorbaramyn Erdenemaam in person. On October 23, at the meeting with the Ulaanbaatar-based Russian House administration, Stepan Bykov presented the Professor with a letter of appreciation for organizing career guidance events, Olympiads and INRTU courses in Mongolian aimags.

"Professor Sosorbaramyn Erdenemaam has conducted a large organizational outreach. In each of the aimags, he was of great help in everything - from meetings with governors to our creative teams’ performance at local schools. We also enjoyed a warm and friendly welcome everywhere. INRTU is grateful to Sosorbaramyn Erdenemaam for acting responsibly and supporting our joint projects," said Stepan Bykov.

According to the Vice-Rector, INRTU and the Association, MNUE and Russian House intend to scale up language courses. Thanks to this, the issue of supporting Russian language students for their internship at INRTU was settled. In January 2024, the first group of 15 people is coming to INRTU for a six-month study of the Russian language and a foreign language teaching methods. Besides, the parties discussed the launching of new programs for the current Russian language teachers.

In addition, the INRTU delegation together with Prof. Erdenemaam visited the Mongolian National University of Education. An agreement was reached on school teachers' professional development with Head of the Institute of Natural Science and the Mathematics Department Chairman.

"For mathematics teachers, the courses are scheduled for the summer of 2024 with two flows from July 25 to August 25. The MNUE teachers will be lecturing and translating lessons organized by the INRTU Department of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. We expect to launch a large-scale project on teaching methods in a wide range of subjects.

Later, similar projects will be launched in the areas to secure the Mongolian economy's sustainability - computer science, physics and chemistry," - emphasized Stepan Bykov.
