Accelerator "Energy Lab-2022" started at Irkutsk Polytechnic University

On June 8, a briefing sessions of the jubilee accelerator "Energy Lab-2022" was held at INRTU. Mikhail Khardikov, head of the energy business of En+ Group, and Mikhail Kornyakov, rector of INRTU, took part in the project. Representatives of the company presented 43 production cases both in person and remotely.

"Energy Lab" is a joint programme of the Irkutsk Technical University and En+ Group. The project is aimed to attract new ideas and technologies for their effective implementation at enterprises. In five years, about 500 students from 30 Russian universities and colleges became participants of the accelerator. Contestants were asked to find solutions to 120 production problems.

This year, 61 applications were received from INRTU, Irkutsk Electrotechnical College, St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation. Students from Siberian Federal University, A.A. Ezevsky Irkutsk State Agrarian University, and others were also interested in the programme.

Mikhail Kornyakov addressed the meeting participants:

"Energy Lab is a significant project for our university, which helps to identify talented people and help them develop. In addition, the most initiative students receive job offers, orders for developments, and during the accelerator useful acquaintances are made".

Mikhail Khardikov expressed his gratitude to Irkutsk Polytechnic for supporting the Energy Lab program:

"Today our employees will present you with the production challenges that the company is facing. Ask questions to the experts to get a better understanding of the cases. It is important that students get the Accelerator right. It is designed precisely for solving cases, not for training the skills of the trainees. A striking example is the implementation of arch structures for the road at the Bratskaya HPP dam. The project was implemented by INRTU students under the guidance of associate professor Stepan Tiguntsev as part of last year's accelerator".

Cases for students were designed by EuroSibEnergo - Hydrogeneration, Krasnoyarskaya HPP, EuroSibEnergo - Thermal Energy, EuroSibEnergo-Engineering, Irkutsk Electric Grid Company, Vostsibugol, EnSer and EuroSibEnergo - Distributed Generation.
