45 INRTU students took the Spell Well dictation on the International English Language Day
The Spell Well dictation was held by the School of Linguistics and Intercultural Communication. The event took place on 18 April within the framework of the International English Language Day. The project attracted the interest of 45 INRTU students who will be awarded the certificates.
Natalia Shalamay, Senior Teacher of the Department of Foreign Languages No. 1, said that this enlightenment event is aimed at motivating students to study foreign languages and improve their literacy. The 300-word excerpt from the book "Breakfast at Tiffany's" by Truman Capote was chosen for the dictation. The text was recorded by Carin Judkins (Italy), a professional Cambridge examiner and interpreter.
The knowledge of the contestants was assessed by the teachers Irina Soldatenko, Maria Egorova, Julia Baranovskaya, Yulia Sinieva and Svetlana Svityuk. The jury highly evaluated the work of the representatives of the School of Aircraft Construction, Mechanical Engineering and Transport Yaroslav Sukhanov and Alexander Gruzdev. A 2nd year student of the Mechanical Engineering College, Gleb Sryvtsev, received a positive review.
A second-year student of the School of Economics, Management and Law, Alex Sokolov is studying the basics of international business, English (B2) and Chinese. This is the first time the student has taken part in the action.
"I was asked to write the dictation by my teacher Tatiana Ryzhkova. The text was interesting, and the geographical names and the names of characters were written on the board for easy perception," said Alexey Sokolov.
