In this severe year of the epidemic, I am grateful to my school, Irkutsk State Polytechnic University, for giving me the opportunity to exchange studies. I am a junior in Irkutsk State Scientific and Technical University.
The overall impression of the internship
On September 6, 2020, I came to Shenyang University of Chemical Technology for a one-year exchange life. Thanks to the university for giving me this opportunity to learn and grow in a different environment, and feel the domestic teaching style and the learning atmosphere of the classmates, which makes me deeply honored. In class, I felt the learning atmosphere of a domestic university. Compared with Russia, the communication was more fluent and made me feel the inadequacy of my foreign language. Therefore, in my spare time, I actively study Russian and English. A better promotion. During the six months at Shenyang University of Chemical Technology, I have met many people, which allowed me to have a broader interpersonal relationship, so that I can better integrate into the larger environment without being out of touch with the rhythm of domestic life. Due to the epidemic, we were unable to complete the university's teaching tasks in the school as planned, but we went home early and completed the remaining learning tasks online. Thanks to the school for allowing us to learn more knowledge while ensuring safety.
Useful tips
Summarize yourself constantly here, make yourself more rational in doing things, thinking and behavior more reasonable and normal, and don't go extreme. In different environments, different conditions, and different periods, I constantly adjust my mentality and find a place that suits my needs in the vast society.
But I have been following the epidemic situation in China and Russia. I miss the teachers and classmates in Russia, our school and dormitory, and our city Irkutsk. I hope that the teachers and classmates in Russia will be safe and healthy. The world defeats the new crown as soon as possible, come on!
I thank you for the opportunity to study at Shanghai University. Interning at Shanghai University allowed me to compare life at different universities, meet new people, enjoy the beauty of China's largest city and more. During my time in Shanghai I not only studied, but also actively participated in extracurricular activities, multiplied my knowledge and gained invaluable experience of communication and teamwork.
What difficulties did I face during preparation stage
The process of preparing for the internship went smoothly and was very gradual. Irkutsk National Research Polytechnic University and Shanghai University helped us to prepare a number of study materials, the students only had to write CVs and motivation letters in Russian and English.
What difficulties did I face after coming to overseas institutions
If there was a problem, the teachers and students at Shanghai University tried to help solve it as quickly as possible. I would like to thank everyone who helped me in resolving academic and other issues.
Cost of my overseas internship, tips to reduce costs
A one-way high-speed train ticket to Shanghai was about RMB 400. Living expenses at Shanghai University are 100 RMB per day, about 30,000 RMB per month. If you want to save money, I can recommend eating in the university cafeteria. It's convenient and cheap.
Lots of different experiences, lots of interesting places, lots of interesting people and the bright colors of the city, which fascinate...
My personel achievment
Studying at Shanghai University made an indelible impression on me and caused only positive emotions. I got acquainted with interesting people, beauties and sights of the city. I am very grateful for the opportunity to study at Shanghai University. During the year of internship I was able to enrich my knowledge in the professional field and decide what I want to become in the future.
Basic difficulties during the preparation stage of my internship. Advice and suggestions
As a matter of fact, I didn't encounter any difficulties in exchange study in my own country. The instructors at Irkutsk State Institute of Technology helped us prepare some study materials before the exchange. We need to prepare two introduction letters and a resume in Russian and English.
Visa process
As soon as I found out that I became a member of the academic mobility program, I contacted the teachers at Shanghai University. I needed to know my student number in order to choose a course on the university's educational platform. With the help of the teachers, this was not difficult at all.
Difficulties at a host foreign organization. Tips for solving them.
I was lucky enough to have an exchange at Shanghai University, and the three-semester system added some experience different from the Russian teaching system. The examination of Chinese universities accounts for 80% more than that at the end of the semester, which also increases my study pressure. I have to study hard to get a satisfactory score. Russia's assessment method is more humane, sometimes the final accounting for only 30%, so usually carefully complete the task carefully listen to the teacher even if the final error will not have any big problem.
My expenses related to visa, cost of travel / trip to the place of internship, registration fees / taxes / pledges in the host organization, medical insurance policy / medical services, travel by public transport, meals, accommodation.
I get to Shanghai by plane and high-speed rail. It's about 500 RMB each way. Accommodation at Shanghai University is 100 RMB per day, which is about 30,000 RMB per academic year. In addition to the necessary expenses, if you want to reduce the cost of living, the only way to eat is at the school cafeteria, the price is very cheap.
This internship made me know many friends fr om all over the world. We exchanged each other's cultures and discussed each other's understanding together. In university, I learned the knowledge of subjects I am interested in and broadened my knowledge. These learning exchanges have enriched my understanding of world culture and increased my understanding of people in different places. At the same time, my life here makes me more independent, which is very helpful for me to study in different countries in the future.
My Impressions and useful tips
The deepest impression of Germany is the standards and norms. Before going to Germany, you need to know that you need a visa. German universities generally have dormitories for students to use. You can make an appointment in advance on the university's official website. After applying for "student partner" on the university's official website, the university will try its best to assign each foreign student a "student partner". He is generally a native of Germany, goes to university and speaks English. As the helper most often contacted by foreign students, he will provide foreign students with help in various aspects, such as life, study, handling documents, etc.Life in Germany is very independent. Even with help, you still need to handle most of your affairs independently.
Visa process
Many documents need to be prepared for visa application, such as letter of introduction, profile, admission notice, asset certificate and so on. These documents are available on the official websites of German Visa centers and embassies in various countries, and the specific preparation materials are determined according to the official website. The visa process is very simple. For short-term students with the purpose of cultural exchange, there are not many problems in face-to-face signing. The basic process of face-to-face signing is to submit documents. Students and the embassy confirm that the documents are correct, and then wait for the visa to be completed. The visa usually takes about a month.
Difficulties at a host foreign organization. Tips for solving them
As a foreigner, you need to apply for bank card, insurance, telephone card and temporary resident ID card after arriving in Germany. These documents are very important and should be handled in a timely manner. Different places have different handling requirements. The specific methods will be informed by the University in Germany. If not, ask the University in time.
My expenses related to participation in a foreign internship
Visa fees are related to the policies formulated by countries at different times. When applying for a visa, students will be required to choose a German bank to handle a block account.
In 2020, the visa center requires students to stay in Germany for one year, with a minimum living cost of 835 euros per month and a total cost of about 10000 euros. The fee is transferred to the block account at one time and paid once a month to the personal bank card handled by the student in the local bank of Germany after the student arrives in Germany.
Insurance
In Germany, everyone must pay insurance. The insurance is purchased before going to Germany and started when arriving in Germany. The insurance price ranges from 150-200 euros per month according to individual choice.
Accomodation
The accommodation fee is determined according to the price on the university's official website, generally ranging from 200-250 euros. The above two fees will be automatically deducted every month after students arrive in Germany and apply for bank cards.
Semester fee
The university needs to pay a semester fee (non tuition fee) every year. Depending on the situation of each university, the fee is 200-250 euros per semester. According to the different universitys, the fee will include free transportation in the city, preferential university canteen and other items, which is very convenient for students.
Living cost
Prices in Germany are not high. For students who can cook and spend less, 200 euros a month is enough to meet their basic needs. In terms of transportation, the student card issued by the university can be used to take all public transport free of charge in the city or specified area wh ere the university is located, but please check the area covered by the student card before use, and a fine of 60 euros will be imposed for each time you do not buy a ticket.
I am glad that I was given the opportunity to participate in the academic mobility program, which gave me a glimpse into the real life of our students inside the country, if only for a short while. Tianjin University of Technology has many amazing teachers who excel in their professional fields. Their professionalism is evident both in the classroom and in extracurricular activities. At the same time, the biggest advantage of coming to Tianjin Institute of Technology is that I have made many friends who have also helped me a lot. Through socializing and sharing experiences with new friends, I learned a lot.
Main difficulties
It should be systematic course selection and final examination. Domestic college students in the new semester before all have "difficult elective, elective difficult, difficult on the sky!" So say, spell but hand speed, spell but network speed, choose a course to become a mine disaster, obviously want to choose basketball, finally forced to choose aerobics... The course selection system of Korean universities is only a few times a year, but every time it is painful for college students. University course selection server crashes, just like your mobile phone has no traffic, WiFi is not connected to the Internet, bad mood. Every time choose a class, class cadre just send a message, everyone is like fighting like, pick up their weapons in succession, which network speed is fast, with which. Some also go to Internet cafes to get online. It's not uncommon for the course selection server to crash. If it's a little bit better, it will be full as soon as it's refreshed. Especially when you choose sports, you must be fast, otherwise you will be finished and a man will have to practice yoga.
As an exchange student, I am not quite clear about the course selection system in China, so I will have corresponding teachers and classmates to help me sel ect courses. However, I think we should first choose the courses that are useful to our major. We should ask the teacher's time in advance and ask the students' introduction to each major before we choose.
On the other hand, it's the examination week. As an exchange student, I didn't choose many courses, so I didn't have much pressure in my study in Tianjin Institute of Technology, but I still learned a lot fr om the teaching system of Tianjin Institute of Technology. In TIANJIN Institute of Technology, there are not only midterm and final exams, but also a lot of reports and discussions. I would like to share my views on the learning test in the form of report. On the whole, this is a good form of examination, which allows students to understand the professional knowledge more deeply. Moreover, the report is often prepared by groups, which exercises the ability of unity and cooperation. This is also something we should learn from, but the education system is a slow learning and improvement, we still have to follow.
Visa process
Due to the epidemic, I was in China and does not need to apply for a visa.
Difficulties when I came to overseas institutions
I don't think there is any difficulty. Just pay attention to the communication with the school.
Cost of my overseas internship (visa fee Air ticket / travel, registration fee / tax / deposit to the internship location. If you have used it, please go to the reception institution, insurance policy / medical service Public transport, food, accommodation)
The cost of the train is 300 yuan, the accommodation is 1200 yuan. According to my calculations, about 2000 yuan per month is enough to live in Tianjin. If you don't have enough money, you can work on weekends and in your spare time.
