Voice of INRTU/Students' Trade Union is Ranked as One of the Best Student Media by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science

Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education expressed gratitude to INRTU Rector and staff for being proactive in supporting and promoting student media. According to the media activity rating of student media in the VKontakte social network for 2023, the Voice of INRTU/Students' Trade Union received a Ministry of Education and Science diploma.

The award ceremony was held as part of the final seminar-meeting on information policy. About 200 professionals responsible for media work in 180 universities of the country united on the platform of the Ministry of Education and Science. Vladimir Smirnov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, and Elena Yerina, Deputy Head of the Press Service, represented INRTU at the seminar meeting. A special attention was paid to student media projects as modernisation drivers for higher education institutions' information and communication strategy.

Mikhail Korniakov, INRTU Rector, congratulated the Students' Trade Union on a well-deserved award. He presented the diploma to Anton Koshkin, the Chairman of the Trade Union Organisation which unites more than 9 thousand students of INRTU. Voice of INRTU/Students' Trade Union student media is very popular among young people and has 25.6 thousand subscribers. Voice of INRTU perfectly copes with its mission, which is to protect, support and care of students, pump softskills and give the opportunity to reveal themselves in nine student associations.

According to Anton Koshkin, the main reason for the popularity of this community in the social network VKontakte is that Voice of INRTU is led by students themselves, who understand what is relevant nowadays.

"We make content in accordance with the student's interests. This year we rebranded our trade union organisation and, accordingly, the Voice of INRTU was rebranded. We tried to make sure that all the posts, posters - all the content we publish - were in the same style. And when we are asked to make a repost, to present information from another university department, we always revise it in terms of graphics. Everything is published in the same style, and this attracts our subscribers.

In 2024 we would like to make more entertaining content, we intend to tell more about our work in terms of socio-economic activities, legal stories (to highlight opportunities for students in connection with changes in the legal framework)," - Anton Koshkin shared his plans for the community development in VKontakte.
