Tsague Souna Junior, a Graduate of the BS BRICS Preparatory Department, is the International Dictation Contest Winner

Souna Junior, a graduate of the Preparatory Department of Russian Language Didactics at BS BRICS, is the winner of the International Dictation campaign. He took first place in the Best Russian Grammar and Spelling category.

It was reported earlier that a group of the Preparatory Department's graduates took part in the International Dictation educational campaign on September 19.

The event was organized by the Moscow Library of Foreign Literature. The International Dictation competition brought together students in 33 locations in 11 countries. 1,848 people wrote an excerpt from Konstantin Simonov's novel "The Living and the Dead" in 11 different languages.

Senior lecturer Tatiana Zendareva, whose student Junior was for 15 months, noted his immense interest and perseverance in studying Russian language and culture from the very first lesson.

“We're incredibly proud of Junior! This victory is the result of his hard work and perseverance, proving that the pursuit of knowledge and an active approach to learning always lead to success. Our teachers carefully consider the individual characteristics and interests of international students, fostering a classroom atmosphere that promotes active learning and helps them reach their full potential. We are delighted to see the results of this approach. Congratulations to Junior on his victory! We wish him continued success in his studies and hope that Russian becomes a key to many wonderful opportunities for him!“

Alla Antonova, Head of the Department of Russian Language Didactics, also believes that Junior's victory is a well-deserved recognition of his tremendous efforts in learning Russian:

“Junior's victory was a natural result of his determination, incredible hard work, and love for the Russian language. Almost every day, I would see him in the hallway, long before classes started, with his Russian textbook. Junior told me that he always tried to study his lessons in advance so that he could master the subject matter better. I remember how, in December 2024, he came up to me and asked me to find an artist who could paint a portrait of his Russian teacher, Tatiana Zendareva. Junior presented this gift to his teacher as a sign of appreciation and gratitude for the knowledge she had given him over the months.

The Interethnic Dictation is a bridge between cultures, based on Russian literature. We are delighted that our foreign students took part in such a large-scale event. It gave our students the opportunity to test their knowledge of the Russian language and get acquainted with a remarkable piece of Russian classical literature—Konstantin Simonov's novel The Living and the Dead—in my opinion, one of the best works about the Great Patriotic War. I hope that INRTU's international students will continue to show interest in this event in the future and achieve the same high results“
