Interregional competition of student boxing teams is held in INRTU

INRTU held an interregional competition of the Eastern Conference student boxing teams. The competition started on May 4 in the gym of the university.

23 boxers from Irkutsk region, Transbaikal, Yakutia, KMAO-Yugra, Samara region and Chechen Republic take part in the tournament. They fight in seven weight categories (59 kg - over 92 kg).

Rector of INRTU, Mikhail Kornyakov, addressed to participants of competitions:

"Last year our university became a full member of the National Student Boxing League Association. We are glad to meet you on the eve of an important holiday - Victory Day. I wish you all the best of luck."

The first day of the competition was successful for INRTU. First-year student of the School of Subsurface Resource Management, candidate master of sports, Orudzh Mamedov (up to 92 kg) defeated Sergey Kozulin from Krasnoyarsk.

It should be noted that the vocal ensemble "Sing, Friend!" performed at the opening ceremony. The students sang the Russian national anthem.

The competition will go on till the 7th of May. Winners of "gold" will play in the final of the National University Boxing League Super Series, which will be held in Irkutsk on December 5-11.
