INRTU Students Won Two Grants at International Youth Forum “Baikal”
Projects by students and staff of Irkutsk National Research Technical University (INRTU) were highly praised at the International Forum “Baikal”. INRTU students won two grants fr om the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh). About 500 thousand rubles will be directed towards creating an open-air cinema and further developing the “PROFDVIZHENIE” project.
The International Youth Forum “Baikal” was held from August 11 to 15 in the Olkhon District. The event brought together about 600 participants from 46 regions and 15 countries.
INRTU
students and staff dedicated their projects to engaging young people in
economic development, developing domestic tourism, culture, international
relations, ecology, student self-government, and the public life of the Irkutsk
Region. The authors defended their ideas in both in-person and online formats.
Ivan
Chashchin, a student of the School of Aircraft Construction, Mechanical
Engineering and Transport at INRTU, received a grant of 234,000 rubles as a
winner of the All-Russian Youth Projects Competition from Rosmolodezh. Ivan is
the author of the educational initiative “Cinema on the Grass”.
As the student notes, he loves watching films and wants everyone to have a positive viewing experience and the opportunity to share it with others.

“The ‘Cinema on the Grass’ project involves creating a mobile outdoor film venue. In this way, everyone will be able to become familiar with regional and Russian films and discuss them with experts in the field of cinema. The main element of the project is an inflatable screen, which will make an open-air cinema possible. Additional equipment will be needed to create the venue's infrastructure. The project is planned to be implemented from May through October 2026,” Ivan says.
INRTU
student Nikita Vlasov received a grant of 250,000 rubles for the educational
project “PROFDVIZHENIE”. The idea is based on creating an effective system of
student self-government in the Irkutsk Region, as well as the ability to meet
the challenges of youth policy by training leaders of public opinion. The
project is planned to be implemented from March 15 to October 31 of the next
year.

“The idea came
on the last day of the summer school, wh ere I was an instructor. I sincerely
admire the ‘PROFDVIZHENIE’ project, and I am very eager to participate in its
development,” Nikita noted.
