INRTU Bandy Team Wins Silver at the Irkutsk Region Bandy Championship

The “Irkutsk Polytech” bandy team claimed silver at the Irkutsk Region Bandy Championship. Victory went to the Baykal-Energiya, who defeated the student team in the final with a score of 7:4. Third place was claimed by Sibskana-2008. The final match and the award ceremony took place at the Baikal Ice Arena on March 21.

The championship kicked off on December 11 in a group-stage format, featuring 15 teams divided into two groups. The event was organized by the Irkutsk Region Bandy Federation.

Mikhail Korniakov, President of the All-Russian Student Bandy League and Rector of Irkutsk National Research Technical University (INRTU), conducted the award ceremony. He presented the medalists with cups and full sets of awards.

“I congratulate all the finalists; you have shown impressive and inspiring results. We hope that next year the “Irkutsk Polytech” team will be able to take the gold. However, in sports, the strongest wins, and we sincerely congratulate the deserved champions. I extend special gratitude to our fans and spectators for their support. Together, we are stronger!”

remarked Mikhail Kornyakov.

The captain of the “Irkutsk Polytech” team, Egor Tushev, a student at the INRTU School of Power Engineering, who was named the best player of the championship, commented on the results. In his opinion, the INRTU team lacked a bit of composure.

“The game was intense. We managed to score first, but then the opponent took control of the match. We tried to level the score several times, but the experience of Baykal-Energiya prevailed,”

Egor noted.

We congratulate the “Irkutsk Polytech” team on their well-deserved award and express our gratitude to the fans for their support.
