General Translation Theory

The course will provide a deeper insight into translation theory and practice when developing professional translation skills. The course is directly related to other courses of the programme, such as Text Studies, Cross-disciplinary Linguistic Studies, Technical Translation Workshop and Commercial Translation Workshop where sophisticated research and translation skills are required. Also, it contributes to the final stage of the programme that is Thesis Writing and Defense.

The goal of mastering the discipline

developing professional translation skills aimed at solving social and communicative issues in various fields of expertise; raising awareness of different aspects in translation theory and practice to give effect to high quality translation equivalence, as well as to translation research projects
