Beginning Russian as a Foreign Language

This course is designed for students to master the beginner level A1-A2 with the possibility of continuing to B1-B2 (additional 11 months of preparatory course). Taking the course, students will participate in various types of activities stimulating their Russian language proficiency by means of classroom work and self-studies. The programme includes General Russian Module providing language competences for everyday use and the Module of Vocational Russian or the Module of Russian International Exams.
Course duration: 4 months (from April 17th to August 16th)
Language of instruction: Russian, English (only classroom phrases at the very beginning of the course)
Hours: 192

Course aim

  • Planned Result: A1 (in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference)

Target group

1. foreign applicants who plan to enroll to an English-taught degree program and want to be able to use Russian in everyday communication;
2. foreign applicants who would like to start learning Russian language to enroll to a Russian-taught degree program. Students have to be ready to proceed to an additional 11-month course of Russian language to obtain B1-B2 level.
