„Sprechen Sie Deutsch?“ or my story of foreign language in BRICS.

My name is Leila and I am a third year student of journalism. There are many emotions and thoughts about subjects in our university and now I would like to tell my story of German language. It will show how reluctance can be turned into love.

To begin with, I have never had the desire to learn German. When I was studying at school, my second language was French and it was enough for me. I chose French language instead of German as I had some biases about this language. I was convinced that it is a rough and complicated language to learn that sounds unpleasant. However, since I have entered the Baikal School of BRICS, my mind has changed drastically.

We had two languages to choose from - Chinese and German. So, I chose the last one. Despite my uncertainty, from the very first lesson, I had an incredible passion to the language. I could not imagine that German is so unique, beautiful and interesting to learn. Until now, I absolutely love the German language at our university. With help of our dear professor of language Savelieva Elena, information is remembered easily and naturally.

Only at our university there is such a wonderful German teacher who will always help in learning and explain several times if something is not clear. After all, despite the complexity of the German language and with our teacher, it is studied very easily and imperceptibly. There was wonder for me to find out that this European language could be so exiting and could even bring me so much pleasure while studying.

This is my story of how I fell in love with a new language for me, which previously seemed to me unpleasant and very difficult. But our Baikal School of BRICS really surprised me and I am very grateful for this that I study here.
