New free online courses of CERGE-EI Foundation

INRTU International Affairs Department invites you to participate in the new courses of the Distance Learning Program 2022 of CERGE-EI Foundation

The goal of the CERGE-EI Foundation is to drive up the standard of economics education in Europe and the countries of the former Soviet Union.

The CERGE-EI Foundation in collaboration with INRTU launches the following courses:

INTRODUCTION to DATA SCIENCE

Lecturer: Vahan Sargsyan, Ph.D., CERGE-EI

Description of the course: The course provides an introduction to data science as a profession and focuses on the theoretical methodologies of the most widely used machine learning models. The main topics include: data preparation (data mining, cleaning and study strategies), statistical modeling using appropriate machine learning methodologies (data segmentation, predictive analytics, recommendation systems) and mathematical evaluation.

The purpose of the course is to present the basic concepts of Data Science. The course examines the basics of machine learning and therefore relies heavily on econometrics and data management, as well as traces connections with other applications of econometrics, both applied and theoretical.

Recommended minimum requirements: Statistics and econometrics at the beginner- level, experience with at least one statistical data analysis package (Python, R, Stata or others).

HEALTH ECONOMICS

Lecturer: Eva Khromadkova, Ph.D., CERGE-EI

Description of the course: The introductory course covers the economic aspects of global health systems, such as supply and demand in the field of health; determinants and effects of health insurance; market distortions and failures; healthcare financing and the impact of demographic trends; markets in healthcare and the pharmaceutical industry. The problems of healthcare in developing regions and the main strategies for influencing behavioral patterns (taxes, restrictions, monetary incentives, etc.) will also be considered.

Recommended minimum requirements: Basic Microeconomics and fundamentals of Econometrics.

The form of the mixed (online lectures + offline seminar)
It is possible to take several courses
At the end of the course, you must pass the exam
Students who successfully complete the course will receive an international Certificate from the CERGE-EI Foundation.
