Kristina Sumenkova and Dmitry Sitdikov became the leaders of IT-projects competition among students and schoolchildren

High school student Kristina Sumenkova and Dmitry Sitdikov, a master's student at INRTU, became leaders in the IT-projects competition among students and schoolchildren. Certificates for 100 thousand rubles were presented to the winners by the university rector Mikhail Korniakov. The solemn awarding ceremony took place on November, 12 at the «Doors Open Day»

Projects were presented as part of the IDigital38 forum. Five contestants presented software solutions for business, tourism and health monitoring. Rector of INRTU Mikhail Korniakov highly appreciated the elaboration level of the IT-projects.

Kristina Sumenkova from Irkutsk (school № 23) is a second year student of «INRTU Network lyceum». She is also a member of IT-team «Cubit». At the competition Kristina represented the unified tourist routes database MARSHROUTE. According to Kristina, the target audience of the project is people who enjoy outdoor activities. The site will help tourists quickly organize hikes on the territory of the Irkutsk region and the Republic of Buryatia and choose equipment.

«Work on the project continues so that users can get complete information. Advanced functionality of the site will allow searching for routes based on specified parameters, to read and post articles on the forum, to build their own ways of travel», - shared her plans Kristina Sumenkova.

The author of the best student initiative was Dmitry Sitdikov, a second-year master's student of the School of Information Technology and Data Science. The purpose of the project is to timely report emergency situations arising during the operation of the milling plant. Dmitry received the task from «SUAL-PM» company (part of «UC RUSAL»).

INRTU student proposed using artificial intelligence methods to detect dust in production facilities. The master's student divided the work into three stages, beginning with the collection of data for the transfer training of the neural network. Then Dmitry Sitdikov created a model capable of detecting dust clouds. In the final stage, the program was integrated into the video surveillance system.

Dmitry Sitdikov added that the IT solution has been successfully tested at the customer company's industrial site, which proves its effectiveness.

«Search, identification of contaminants allows you to avoid fires and explosions, and thereby improve technological performance, to keep employees safe. The project can be adapted to the conditions of other powder metallurgy enterprises», Dmitry Sitdikov said.
