The International Industrial Exhibition “INNOPROM. Belarus” has concluded in Minsk. The event was attended by INRTU Rector Mikhail Korniakov and Vice-Rector for International Affairs Stepan Bykov as part of the delegation of the Government of the Irkutsk Region.
A key event was the 10th meeting of the working group on cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Irkutsk Region. Mikhail Kornyakov delivered a report on the successes and prospects of joint work with Belarusian universities and enterprises.
Currently, INRTU and the Belarus State Economic University (BSEU) have successfully launched joint master's degree programs. Students receive double diplomas in international business and foreign economic activity. Seventy-seven students have already graduated from these programs.
Collaboration between the universities is also actively developing in the scientific field, including dissertation defenses, joint publications (12 articles), and a joint grant application in the field of “green chemistry”.
As noted by BSEU representatives at the working group meeting, Irkutsk National Research Technical University is a key partner for their institution:
“We highly value this cooperation, which has become the foundation for implementing significant joint initiatives”.Belarusian universities are regular participants in INRTU's scientific conferences on aircraft manufacturing, chemistry, and urban planning. INRTU Military Training Center cadets team took part in patriotic gatherings in Brest, marched with portraits of Siberian heroes in the “Belarus Remembers!” patriotic procession, and visited the Brest Fortress.
During the meeting, INRTU Rector Mikhail Korniakov discussed with Belarusian colleagues issues related to professional training and joint implementation of scientific and educational programs.

“We plan to submit grant applications together with BSEU and other universities and actively develop academic exchanges. We hope to increase the number of students in joint programs.
In 2026, we look forward to welcoming a youth delegation of students from Brest State Technical University and Belarus State Economic University to Irkutsk for the Victory Day celebrations!” said Mikhail Korniakov.
According to the rector, INRTU is systematically building partnership relations with Belarusian enterprises:
“In 2024, 20 specialists from JSC “558 Aircraft Repair Plant” completed advanced training courses at INRTU. We are helping to equip a production site for the creation of the ‘Osvey’ aircraft. Our university is ready to expand retraining programs for such giants as JSC "MAZ", OJSC "BELAZ", and JSC “Mogilev Metallurgical Works”. We can organize advanced training courses in high-performance machining, part forming, automated assembly technologies, and the design, installation, and testing of engineering products.
INRTU is interested in implementing comprehensive R&D programs for orders from industrial companies in Belarus”.
Summing up the visit, Mikhail Korniakov emphasized that INRTU's cooperation with Belarus is about tangible results, strong partnerships, and a confident step into the future for training highly qualified specialists and developing technologies for both countries.
