INRTU Maintains Leading Position in THE Impact Rankings 2025

The Times Higher Education (THE) ranking agency has published the results of the THE Impact Rankings 2025, which assess universities’ contributions to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This year, the number of participating universities significantly increased to 2,526 institutions from 130 countries, indicating high competition. In 2024, 2,152 universities from 125 countries took part in the rankings.

Irkutsk National Research Technical University (INRTU) has confirmed its strong position by being placed in the 601–800 group among the world’s top universities. This achievement reflects the university’s consistent development and its significant contribution to addressing global challenges. In 2024, INRTU ranked in the 401–600 range.

Among Russian universities, INRTU took 3rd place overall. The university leads in the following UN Sustainable Development Goals, achieving first place in these areas:

  • Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation
  • Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy (Top 101–200 globally)
  • Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
  • Goal 13: Climate Action
