INRTU and China University of Petroleum (Qingdao) Signed an Agreement on Dual Degree Program
INRTU and China National University of Petroleum (CUP, East China) have signed an agreement on a dual degree program in oil and gas engineering joint implementation. The document was signed by Mikhail Korniakov, INRTU Rector, and Hao Fang, President of the Chinese university.
The program includes two years of student training at INRTU and two years at CUP. Graduates will receive two bachelor's degrees - Russian and Chinese. In INRTU the training will be carried out in Russian language within the bachelor's program “Drilling of oil and gas wells” (training direction 21.03.01 “Oil and Gas Business”). In CUP education will be conducted in English within the bachelor's program “Oil and gas business”.
Students who have successfully completed the first stage of their studies at INRTU will be able to continue their education in China. To do so, they need to meet the requirements, including a grade point average of at least 4.0 and good knowledge of English. The Chinese university is also ready to provide scholarships for the best students, fully and partially covering the cost of tuition at CUP (for students whose results for the first two years of study at INRTU occupy the first 20% in the overall ranking of the group, a scholarship with 100% tuition coverage is provided; for students whose results occupy the first 21%-50% in the ranking of the group, the scholarship will cover 50% of the cost of tuition).
The agreement is for seven years with the possibility of renewal. This is an important step in strengthening international cooperation between the two universities and developing educational programs in the field of Oil and Gas industry.
