Harbin Institute of Petroleum Is Interested In Developing Cooperation with INRTU on Educational Exchanges
A delegation from Harbin Institute of Petroleum (HIP) visited INRTU to discuss cooperation in international educational exchanges.
The delegation included Tong Yu, Vice President of the university, Ren Hongyun, Director of the Institute of Economics and Management, Li Yuesiang, Director of the Institute of Petroleum Engineering, and Zhao Hongwei, Specialist for Cooperation with Russia.
At the meeting, Stepan Bykov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, noted that about 70 Chinese universities are partners of INRTU:

“Currently, there are nearly 400 Chinese students studying at INRTU. Mostly, the guys prefer humanitarian areas of study in Russian and English – economics and management. We are open to discussing the prospects of cooperation with the Harbin Institute of Petroleum”.
According to Tong Yu, HIP offers bachelor's degree programs in 35 fields. The university has eight institutes, including the Institute of Petroleum Engineering.

“Every year many students from the Institute of Petroleum Engineering enter Russian universities. Six of our graduates are currently studying at INRTU.
We have signed cooperation agreements with 30 Russian universities. The establishment of the Institute of International Education in 2015 allowed us to send almost a thousand people to Russian universities.
We work with Russian colleagues on three educational programs. The 1+4 format is popular, when students spend a year learning the Russian language and then enrol for a bachelor's degree in Russia. Fifty people have chosen such education.
The second program is implemented in the 4+2 format, when our graduates, after receiving a bachelor's degree, enter the Russian master's program. I would like to point out that from the third year of study, these students already start learning the Russian language.
The third area of cooperation is student exchange,” said Tong Yu.
Stepan Bykov noted that INRTU employees are ready to discuss specific educational programs and curriculum for the proposed study formats. Student exchange is also welcome.
“Furthermore, we invite your Russian language teachers and students to improve their skills at the summer language school, which we organize annually on Baikal.
It lasts two weeks and helps foreign students not only to significantly improve their language skills, but also deepen their understanding of Russian spirit, its cultural and historical heritage,” informed Stepan Bykov.
The parties agreed to implement two network educational programs in the field of economics and oil and gas business.
The visit of the HIP delegation continued with a tour around INRTU. The Chinese colleagues visited laboratories and educational centers of the School of Subsurface Resource Management.
