BS BRICS Student Alina Sautskaya Completed Language Courses at Harbin Institute of Technology

Third-year student of the Baikal School of BRICS Alina Sautskaya has completed a language internship at Harbin Institute of Technology.

At Irkutsk National Research Technical University (INRTU), Alina is studying in the “Journalism and Media Communications” program. She shared that Harbin Institute of Technology organized the language courses from June 30 to July 25. Participants studied Chinese language and literature. The classes were focused on language practice and speaking.

“At the Baikal School of BRICS, more attention is paid to the theoretical part and grammar. In Harbin, I felt how effectively one can progress in language learning when you are daily in a language environment and constantly apply the acquired knowledge in communication,” the student noted.

For Alina Sautskaya, this was her second summer attending the program at Harbin Institute of Technology. According to her, this year she discovered many new things:

“For example, for the first time I was truly able to overcome the language barrier and feel confident in conversations with native speakers. Additionally, I got to explore Chinese culture more deeply through excursions, traditions, and interactions with students. It was an experience that cannot be replaced by books or classroom learning”.

In addition to intensive lectures, Harbin Institute of Technology arranged an extensive cultural and recreational program for the language course participants.
