2022 Academic Year Changwon National University Exchange Program for INRTU students

Changwon National University (CWNU) is a public higher education institution in South Korea, started its work in 1969. The main building of the university is located in Changwon. CWNU ranks high among the universities of South Korea.

The university offers students an opportunity to participate in the international exchange programs. Nowadays Changwon National University cooperates with 147 universities located in 26 countries. Among them there is our university as well. Since 2013 INRTU and Changwon National University have become long-standing partners in many aspects of cooperation, including improving the competitiveness and quality of educational programs and research. Such efficient cooperation also affects student exchange. And since sophomore year the INRTU students are suggested to join exchange program and study for a semester or one academic year at Changwon National University.

Instruction Language

The greater part of the courses are taught in Korean (A few courses taught in English)

Proposed areas of training and faculties:

Faculty of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering; civil, Environmental and Chemical Engineering, civil engineering, chemical industry, environmental safety and Energy, Architecture, Architectural design

Computer technology, information and communication technologies

Faculty of Social Sciences (Law, International Relations, Sociology, Public Administration)

Faculty of Business (Business Administration, Accounting, Taxation, etc.)

Faculty of Natural Sciences (Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, food).

Exchange students usually take 3 to 6 courses per semester.

Most courses are 3 credits, and one 3-credit course consists of 45-hour workload per semester.

Minimum credits allowed per semester is 6 credits.

Maximum credits allowed per semester is 21 credits.

1 credit = 15 hours / 1 semester

Eligibility

▪ Students must be nominated by a coordinator of the International office at INRTU;

▪ Students must be a full-time student;

▪ There are no language requirements, but it is strongly recommended to have high proficiency of Korean or English.

Tuition Fee

Exchange students from INRTU pay tuition to their home institutions and CWNU tuition is waived.

Accomodation

It is mandatory for all exchange students to live in on-campus dormitory. The cost of living depends on room type and an overage one is about 30,000 — 50,000/semester.

Other costs

Meal and food: Approximately 200–300 rub./meal in student cafeteria, and 300~1000 rub./meal in off-campus restaurant

Settlement fee: (1st month): Approximately 12,000~18,000 rub., including textbooks, alien card application, health checkup, daily supplies, etc.

Insurance requirement

All exchange students automatically join National Health Care Insurance after they receive Alien Registration Card. Overseas travel insurance from home country is also accepted. Any general international insurance will be okay, as long as it covers the whole period of the staying in Korea.

Online Buddy

When INRTU students have any inquiry about exchange program, they can directly contact International Affairs and Education office. Yet, if any students who are interested in studying at Changwon National University want to learn more about real student life, they can always get some useful tips from International Students Council (ISC).

The main goals of this online buddy program are:

1) to help the students understand Changwon university and region better;

2) to help them have a taste of CWNU life before they get there;

3) to help them choose a right destination for their study abroad.

Deadline for application on exchange program for fall semester- 2022:  April 28.
