The program "Chemical technology" at INRTU is chosen by school graduates and employees of leading oil and gas companies

Irkutsk National Research Technical University (INRTU) invites applicants to get a degree of a chemical engineer. Bachelor's degree graduates are sought-after at oil and gas processing enterprises, design bureaus and research organisations. At the moment, the university offers nine funded places for full-time study in the field of "Chemical Technology"

Department of Chemical Technology named after N.I. Yaropolov, which was opened at the university in 1964, is the key department on the program. It’s equipped with laboratories and specialists with extensive teaching and research production experience teach the students. Bachelor's degree graduates can continue their studies at the Master's program.

According to Associate Professor Anna Chayka, bachelor engineers working with natural energy and carbon materials receive offers from leading industry companies. Students of INRTU work in the Irkutsk, Sakhalin, Krasnoyarsk and Khabarovsk regions, and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Anna said:

“Such companies as Angarsk Petrochemical Company, Achinsk and Khabarovsk oil processing plants, Rosneft, and Irkutsk Oil Company are interested in our graduates. At the enterprises young specialists work their way up from designers and technologists to managers. Talented graduates with an interest in fundamental science are in demand in research institutes”

Sophia Zakharevich, who graduated school No. 9 (Irkutsk) with honors and have high entrance grades, will study to become a chemical engineer at INRTU. She shared her plans:

“INRTU is one of the best technical universities in our region. That is why here I will study the interesting and promising field of "Chemical Technology".

In my student life, I intend to show myself in creativity by continuing my music and vocal activities”.

There are graduates of specialized secondary schools and employees of major oil and gas companies among the 2023 freshmen year students in the field “Chemical Technology”. For example, Vadim Amosov was enrolled in the INRTU for a state-funded place. Previously, he graduated a college with a specialization in “Design, construction and operation of oil and gas pipelines and oil and gas storage facilities”. Vadim now works for “Gazprom Dobycha Irkutsk” as an operator at a gas condensate loading terminal. He noted:

“In 2022 at the training and simulation center of oil and gas business of INRTU I took a course in "Commodity Operator" and "Oil and Gas Production Operator". During my studies I got acquainted with the university and decided on my further education. I chose chemical technology as a multidisciplinary field of knowledge related to my job”.
