Representatives of China National United Oil Corporation Visited INRTU
The delegation of China National United Oil Corporation visited INRTU on March 18. The guests discussed the cooperation prospects with the employees of School of Subsurface Resource Management and visited the laboratories of the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering.
The delegation included regional general manager Li Gang, his deputy Sun Ke, assistant Chi Shaofei, and the department directors Zhou Yang and Xie Yuxiao. The delegation was greeted by Anna Melentieva, Head of the International Affairs Department. She emphasized that INRTU aims to enhance cooperation with China in the field of education, science, culture and sports. The partners implement many joint projects, including double degree programs, student academic exchange, and research initiatives. About 300 Chinese students are studying at the university in total.

"We have already met with our colleagues fr om Irkutsk Oil Company. Thanks to today's meeting at INRTU, we hope to assess the prospects of cooperation with your university," Li Gang said.
Alexey Shevchenko, Director of School of Subsurface Resource Management, noted that INRTU has a history of over 90 years. Traditionally, the university has been engaged in resources exploration, including hydrocarbons. For example, the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering trains specialists in drilling and exploitation of oil and gas fields. The staff of School High Technologies is engaged in resource processing, while School of Architecture, Construction and Design designs trunk pipelines.
"In all these areas, the university has carried out educational and scientific work. We train bachelors, masters and PhD graduates. The unviersity also offers courses for employees of mining companies. The results achieved by China over the past 20 years are a positive example for the whole world. It is pleasant to observe that environmental issues are priority for Chinese industry. In this regard, one of the directions of our cooperation with you may be research on ecology and technosphere safety. We are also ready to assist the corporation in staff training, to invite Chinese specialists for professional training courses", - said Alexey Shevchenko.
Nikolay Buglov, Head of the Oil and Gas Engineering Department, gave a tour of the laboratories. In the Educational and Training Center the oil workers were shown complexes that are used to simulate accidents in the well during drilling, to study technological processes. In addition, the guests visited laboratories wh ere engineers study submersible pumps, experiment with drilling fluids, and simulate the processes of oil and gas well development.
