New Year Fair: Gifts From the Rector, Crafted Cheese and Designer Jewellery
The INRTU New Year's Fair was held at 15 locations. INRTU students bought gift sets of sweets, local cheeses, decorative candles and knitted toys, chose jewellery and other things. Mikhail Korniakov summarised the results of the New Year's Wish Box campaign.
The event was hosted by Victor Filatov, the role of Father Frost was performed by Danila Zaitsev.
At the opening of the fair, the Rector noted that INRTU is actively preparing to welcome the New Year:
‘Students hold creative competitions and masterclasses. We are opening the fair so that students and staff of the university could please themselves and their loved ones with nice little things. We wish everyone to pass their exams successfully and have a good holiday’.
Creative teams of the INRTU Centre for Cultural, Mass and Educational Work - participants of the festival ‘Mittens’ - performed for the guests. Folk club of ethnic percussion "Ethnobit studio" opened the concert with a new number.
At the fair everyone was offered to buy colourful knitted animals. Soft toys will please children and perfectly decorate the Christmas tree. Jewellery lovers paid attention to chains and pendants in the form of crescent moons, snowflakes, stars, zodiac signs and others. No less popular were women's jewellery made of glass, as well as decorative soap - compositions resembling cones, tangerines, Siberian berries, snowflakes and mittens.
The guests tasted craft cheese, which differs from mass-produced varieties by its exquisite aroma and rich flavour. Those with a sweet tooth bought ginger biscuits with icing, chips - dried oranges, different variations of chocolate.
Mikhail Korniakov picked a letter from Svetlana Ayusheeva, a student of the Institute of Architecture, Construction and Design, at random out of over 500 letters as part of the New Year's Wish Box campaign. The future designer asked for a box of sweet tangerines:
‘I will share the tasty gift from the Rector with my friends from dormitory No. 12G. At INRTU masterclasses everyone could get a sense of festivity. I made non-alcoholic mulled wine, decorated gingerbread and painted New Year's ornaments‘.
