INRTU Won Three Forum “Baikal” Grants

The projects of INRTU students and graduates were highly appreciated at the International Forum “Baikal”. INRTU students won one grant from Rosmolodyozh and two grants from the regional competition in the sphere of youth policy. The initiatives are devoted to the development of patriotism, volunteerism and tourism.

Forum “Baikal” was held on August 13-16 in Olkhonsky District. 600 people from 52 regions of Russia and nine countries participated in the event.

According to Igor Kobzev, Governor of the Angara Region, the forum once again proved that young people have many projects and plans. They are aimed at improving life in various spheres, including ecology, business, creativity, social work, community development.

Grant support of 14 million rubles was provided to 59 winners of the forum. 19 people from INRTU presented their projects. Alexey Ryabikov, a graduate of INRTU, won the Rosmolodyozh contest. He will receive 590 thousand rubles to organize a military-patriotic game among students of the Irkutsk Region. As the author notes, his project differs from the classic military game:

“The preparation of some stages of the games will involve participants of the Special Military Operation, military personnel of the Russian Armed Forces and employees of military training centers. The games are aimed at testing and developing physical endurance, agility and tactical skills. Also, the project will contribute to the formation of a community of student patriotic clubs in the region,” explained the INRTU graduate.

The grant funds will be used for transportation costs, meals for participants, purchase of equipment and award products.

Oksana Evdokimova, a future IT specialist, received 146 thousand rubles to implement a tourism project, which is aimed at increasing the level of tourist infrastructure development in the Irkutsk Region. It is expected that 100 people aged 18-35 will become participants of the project. In the format of internships they will study the possibilities of historical and student tourism, learn how to organize trips. At the end of the training, the participants will develop suggestions for improving the regional tourism industry and come up with routes for independent travel in the Angara Region. The project implementation period is February-October 2025.

The regional government supported the project of Tatiana Fadeeva, a student of the School of Architecture, Construction and Design, supervisor of the student sector of the organization “Green Universities of Russia". She proposes to hold the event in Nukutsky District. Volunteers will organize sports, career guidance and creative lessons in local schools. In addition, the campaign will provide household assistance to lonely seniors and families of Special Military Operation participants. It is expected that young residents of Nukutsky District will join the initiative too.

“Thanks to the campaign, the prestige of volunteerism will grow. We will not only help with snow removal and firewood cutting, but also motivate local residents to support people in need,” Tatiana emphasized.

The author requested a subsidy of 90 thousand rubles for the realization of the idea. Funding is needed for the purchase of inventory and merchandise, transportation costs.

We would like to add that the forum program included educational tracks in the sphere of entrepreneurship, youth community development and cultural dialogue. The Forum “Baikal” was organized by the Ministry of Youth Policy of the Irkutsk Region.
