INRTU Students – Winners of the International Architectural Competition “Parallels-2024” In Vladivostok
INRTU students Valeria Bogomazova and Victoria Orlova are the winners of the International Architectural Exhibition-Competition “Parallels-2024”. The experts highly appreciated the INRTU's projects to upgrade the infrastructure of Angarsk. The contest is organized by Far Eastern Federal University (Vladivostok).
The exhibition-competition among students of “Architecture” and “Design engineering” programs was included in the program of the ARCH'Pacific youth forum. INRTU submitted to the jury term papers on the theme of improving the Angarsk's microdistricts. The authors proposed to build schools, kindergartens, came up with original interior and facade solutions.
Students developed projects upon request of the administration of the Angarsk City District. Professor Inna Druzhinina was the supervisor of the designers.
Drafts of senior students Valeria Bogomazova and Victoria Orlova took second place. They received awards for interesting ideas of complex development of the microdistrict.
Victoria Orlova focused on the construction of the residential complex "Pomegranate", proposing the form of sections in the form of irregular pentagons. The association with pomegranate is also evoked by the facade, the elements of which are partially painted in scarlet color.
“I tried to stick to a certain storey height. The draft shows the difference between the architecture of the interior and exterior facades. For example, from the outside, all the facades are made in one plane, while on the courtyard side there are additional volumes in the form of glazed balconies. The first floor is designed as a stylobate with parking, stores, fitness studio. The project includes an additional education school occupying two floors of the building,” the student noted.
According to Victoria Orlova, success at the competition will enrich her portfolio and increase her chances of getting a job in a large architectural bureau after graduation.
Valeria Bogomazova proposed to upgrade the infrastructure of the microdistrict. The student's concept involves kindergartens, schools, shopping areas, a cultural palace, and a supplementary education institution. The project also includes a large modern church instead of the old wooden church. The house-complex may consist of several 16-storey sections connected by roofed passages. In order for residents to relax in comfort and communicate with neighbors more often, the author came up with recreational areas (coworking, mini-library, sports corners).
