Senior students of the School of High Technologies took part in II National Olympiad on the discipline "Processes and apparatuses of chemical technology"
This intellectual competition took place in Russian Chemical Technology University named after D. I. Mendeleev. D. I. Mendeleev Russian Chemical Technology University (RCTU).
The goal of the Olympiad is to support talented young people in engaging in science on a professional level. This year 55 students from 14 Russian universities have shown interest in the competition. The results were summed up in individual and team standing.
INRTU was represented by Nadezhda Statsenko, Elizaveta Isaeva and Taisia Alekseeva, final year students of the "Chemical technology of natural energy carriers and carbon materials" major.
During the introductory lecture, the participants were told about the scientific projects that the Department of Chemical Technology of Glass and Syntallics at RCTU is engaged in. Students visited laboratories of Mendeleev Engineering Center and career guidance meetings with representatives of PJSC Gazprom and Lukoil.
INRTU student Taisia Alekseeva noted that at the Olympiad she applied her existing knowledge and gained new experience.
"We studied well the processes and devices of chemical technology under the guidance of associate professor Nikolai Dmitrievich Gubanov, so there were no difficulties. We also turned to the laws of mathematics, which in the first year we were introduced to by Associate Professor Nelly Vasilyevna Rudykh.
After announcing the results, RCTU professors reviewed the tasks with us, shared the methods of their solutions. We received a list of reference books for improving professional skills," said Taisia Alexeeva.
The awards ceremony for the winners and participants was conducted by Ilya Vorotintsev, acting Rector of the D. I. Mendeleyev Russian Chemical Technology University. The students were also congratulated by Leonid Ravichev, the head of the Department of Processes and Devices of Chemical Technology.
The team of Irkutsk Polytechnic University received diplomas and gifts from "Pharmasintez" company.
