INRTU students share their impressions of their studying at Institut Teknologi Bandung (Indonesia)

A month ago INRTU students went on exchange program to Indonesia at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB). Students shared their first impressions of the country and talked about the features of the educational process.

Tatyana Vasilyeva notes the positive attitude of local residents:

“Indonesians are positive, friendly and kind, always smiling and interested in our lives.

ITB has a large and beautiful campus. The students are very responsive and help us if something is not clear. Studying here is much more difficult than in Russia. Every week we have deadlines, and everything is very strict, you need to work on projects in each subject. Students complete two sessions per semester. Exams must be completed within a week. The student exchange program is an interesting experience, an excellent opportunity to visit another country, get to know the mentality, culture and traditions of the local people. We have the opportunity to see the sights and also compare the level of education. I would like to emphasize that you need to be prepared to learn in several languages (English, Russian and Bahasa).”

Daria Subbotina  liked Institut Teknologi Bandung for its extraordinary architecture and green areas. The university environment is very comfortable and conducive to learning, communication and development.

“First impressions are definitely good: warm weather, lots of green, comfortable dormitory and very nice people. The campus is designed to be as convenient as possible for students. I remember meeting the teachers - they were very kind and helped with solving not only academic but also personal issues. The Indonesian students were happy about our arrival, I already made many friends,” said Daria.

According to Evgeny Borisov, “you shouldn’t believe all the photos from the Internet about Indonesia”:

“My ideas were a little different from what I saw. After a month of living in this country I got used to its fast pace of life. The people here are quite friendly, almost anyone is ready help you with a smile on their face.

For me, studying abroad is a valuable experience that is worth all the stress and money spent. At the same time, it is important not to rule out unforeseen difficulties and be ready to adapt to new conditions.”

Students were also able to visit the main street, Bandung Zoo, see the White Crater, strawberry farms, as well as tea and coffee plantations.
