INRTU Students Aigerim Kochkonbaeva and Sofya Tryashchenko Study International Economics and Trade in Beijing Institute Of Technology

Baikal School of BRICS students Aigerim Kochkonbaeva and Sofia Tryashchenko are exchange students at the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT). They are learning international economics and trade in English, participating in competitions and festivals of the institute.

Currently, 14 INRTU students fr om various schools are studying at BIT. The international internship started in early September and will last until mid-January 2025. 

Aigerim and Sofia are studying international business at the Baikal School of BRICS, so they decided to choose a similar field of study at the Chinese university. The students found out about the exchange program in the Vkontakte group of the International Office of INRTU.

As part of the educational program, the student learns subjects related to the Chinese language, international economics, financial management and big data management. Aigerim is also actively involved in the creative life of the institute. For example, on October 12, she took part in the National Day Festival, wh ere she represented her homeland Kyrgyzstan. Aigerim performed a national dance, treated the festival guests to pilaf, kurut (cottage cheese dish) and sour-milk drink tan.

”I have nothing but positive emotions from this trip. Beijing Institute of Technology is among the best educational institutions in the Celestial Empire. I love the friendly atmosphere at the institute and the campus itself, which has everything for comfortable studying. There are cafes, a beautiful park and a pond. I had a unique chance to visit a new country with its amazing culture, to meet guys from other countries. I know for sure that I will come back here again,” commented Aigerim.

BIT attracted Sofia Tryashchenko by favorable exchange conditions and the opportunity to study disciplines relevant to her future profession:

“The institute has created a friendly environment for international students. It has a beautiful campus, an extensive library and modern sports facilities, which is very nice.

BIT has students from China, Thailand, Russia, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Mexico, Spain, the Netherlands and South Africa. About a thousand people came to the opening ceremony of the academic year for international students. All the guys are friendly and easy to get along with”.

Sofia Tryashchenko noted that BIT has a rich student life, with many events from global brands.

Currently, Beijing Institute of Technology has opened enrollment for inclusive education (spring semester). Applications will be accepted until November 14, 2024. Students are offered courses in six undergraduate and 12 graduate programs. Those interested can also go on a language internship in Chinese. Accommodations and tuition are free. Students pay for air tickets, health insurance (400 yuan/semester), registration fee (500 yuan/semester), visa application fee and personal expenses.
