INRTU Student Sodnom Balbarov Completed an Internship at Harbin Institute of Technology
Sodnom Balbarov, a student of INRTU School of High Technologies, underwent language training at Harbin Institute of Technology. During the semester, the student studied the Chinese language, got acquainted with Chinese traditions and culture.
At INRTU Sodnom studies Automation Systems and Equipment in Industry. To go to China, the student proved good knowledge of English and provided the results of his academic achievements.
According to Sodnom Balbarov, he has always dreamed of getting an idea of life in another country:
"Traveling is one of the best ways to broaden your horizons, become a truly educated person, and make foreign friends.
In China, I lived in a dormitory for international students where everyone would speak English. In the first month, it was difficult to communicate with other students, but it helped speed up the adaptation and language development process."
Thanks to the internship, Sodnom Balbarov started learning Chinese and improved his spoken English. In addition, the trip helped the INRTU student to compare the educational systems in the Chinese and Russian universities:
"At Harbin Institute of Technology, there are exams every two weeks, which motivates students to study harder.
I really liked my Chinese teacher, who developed interesting lessons for us. In my free time, I spent a lot of time talking to students from other countries and listening to their stories about their homeland."
Sodnom Balbarov was very impressed by Harbin. He visited many sights, including the Confucius Temple and St. Sophia Cathedral, built by the Russians in 1907. According to the student, Harbin is especially beautiful at night, when it is decorated with thousands of lights.
Sodnom plans to continue studying Chinese and interacting with INRTU students from China.
The student was assisted by the staff of INRTU International Office, headed by Nina Berngard.
