INRTU Presented the Baikal Without Plastic Project at the International Forum of Civic Participation #МЫВМЕСТЕ
INRTU presented the scientific volunteering project - Baikal Without Plastic at the International Forum of Civic Participation #МЫВМЕСТЕ (WETOGETHER). The event took place within the Russia exhibition in Moscow from December 4-7.
The Baikal Without Plastic initiative was developed by INRTU's Student Scientific Society - the Carbon and the Technologist at the Chemistry of the Future Scientific School. The project was launched with the participation of representatives from SBER, EN+, Baikal Research and Education Center and the Center for Scientific Volunteering Development.
Alisa Soboleva, coordinator of the Baikal Without Plastic, and Yulia Antipieva, a third-year student and future chemist-technologist, spoke at the #МЫВМЕСТЕ forum on behalf of INRTU.
They presented new scientific volunteering projects during the Together to Discoveries round table. At the event, participants were informed about scientific tasks they could undertake, while the initiatives' authors received feedback from experts.
The projects were reviewed by Olga Petrova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Leonid Gusev, Head of the Department of Academic Policy, Teaching and Methodological Activities and Organization of the Educational Process at Lomonosov Moscow State University, and other experts in the field of scientific volunteering and youth policy.
Alisa Soboleva has outlined a number of activities for the Baikal Without Plastic project:
"The initiative is expected to promote a culture of conscious consumption among young people."
The project will be supervised by INRTU's Scientific Volunteer Point. The main task is to interact with researchers in the region, assist in organizing citizen science projects, and replicate the best scientific practices. Additionally, the volunteer point promotes cooperation between Student Scientific Organization, youth, scientific and volunteer organizations.
The round table also featured presentations on other scientific volunteering projects, including the Future Generations scientific and educational laboratory for regional ecosystem research and sustainable design, We are Together, Comfortable City, Language Borders - World Borders linguistic education ambassadors, and several initiatives related to human physiology.
