INRTU Joined the Russian-Kyrgyz Consortium of Technical Universities

INRTU joined the Russian-Kyrgyz Consortium of Technical Universities (RKCTU). The decision was made on September 20 at the XII general meeting of the organization, which was held in Issyk-Kul region of the Kyrgyz Republic. The agreement was signed by Nikolay Rogalev, Chairman of RKCTU, and Stepan Bykov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of INRTU.

The event was organized by the National Research University MPEI and the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov.

INRTU was represented at the general meeting of the Russian-Kyrgyz Consortium of Technical Universities by Stepan Bykov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, and Alexey Levashev, Associate Professor of the Department of Road Transport.

“We are honored to be part of such a large-scale association. This year's general meeting of the consortium was attended by representatives of 40 Russian universities and 15 universities from the Kyrgyz Republic. In this regard, joining the Russian-Kyrgyz Consortium opens new opportunities for us to exchange experience and build a more productive dialog with our Kyrgyz colleagues on joint educational projects,” commented Stepan Bykov.

It should be noted that more than 70 citizens from Kyrgyzstan are currently studying at INRTU.

As Alexey Levashev emphasized, participation in the consortium allows INRTU to expand its network of business contacts. INRTU's staff and students are interested in participating in the summer school organized by the Moscow State University of Civil Engineering and Kaliningrad State Technical University. For example, this year the participants of the summer school worked out concepts of spatial development of the city of Cholpon-Ata on Lake Issyk-Kul.

“We are interested in the summer school project, especially since INRTU has a successful experience of holding the Baikal Winter University of Urban Planning Design.

In addition, there is a preliminary agreement with the administration of Bishkek on the transportation direction. The Department of Transportation highly appreciated our technologies. Now in the working mode we are helping our colleagues from Kyrgyzstan to develop technical specifications related to transportation planning.

We were also given the tasks related to water resources. These issues are in the competence of the staff of the INRTU's Siberian School of Geosciences.

Thus, the consortium gives INRTU an opportunity to strengthen its positions in the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as to reach new Russian partners”, explained Alexey Levashev.

The meeting of the Russian-Kyrgyz Consortium of Technical Universities was held as part of the events celebrating the 70th anniversary of Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov. The participants discussed their experiences in organizing joint educational programs and had a lively discussion about the consortium's role in promoting scientific and educational cooperation between Russia and Kyrgyzstan. The representatives of the universities also talked about improving the mechanisms of the consortium.

The RKCTU was established in 2013 as a voluntary association of Russian and Kyrgyz universities. It has been steadily growing over the years with more universities joining and showing a commitment to supporting cooperation in developing joint network educational programs.

For more than a decade, Russian and Kyrgyz universities have achieved significant success in facilitating teacher and student mobility, offering professional development courses, and conducting guest lectures through both face-to-face and remote learning formats.
