INRTU Joined the Alliance of Chinese-Russian Universities for Language Education

INRTU joined the Alliance of Chinese-Russian Universities for Language Education. The new project was launched at a ceremony held on May 18 at Heilongjiang University (Harbin).

The Alliance of Chinese-Russian Universities of Language Education was established on the initiative of Heilongjiang University and Moscow State Linguistic University. Today the alliance includes 23 Russian and 38 Chinese universities. The main goal of the community is to create a platform for Sino-Russian cooperation in linguistics, deepen language education and humanitarian exchanges, and share resources.

Members of the alliance will be able to jointly prepare specialists, apply for grants and projects, and develop academic and cultural exchanges. In addition, the alliance will open new Confucius Institutes, hold summer and winter schools, festivals and other events to promote the popularization of Chinese and Russian cultures.

It should be noted that the opening ceremony was attended by the heads of the Ministries of Education of the two countries, as well as rectors and representatives of more than 60 universities-members of the alliance.

INRTU was represented by Stepan Bykov, Vice Rector for International Affairs, Xia Shuang, Assistant of the Rector, Anna Melentieva, Head of the International Affairs Department, Konstantin Grigorov, Head of the International Scientific and Educational Projects Department, Irina Byankina, Head of the Youth Policy Department, and Anna Kireenko, Director of the Baikal School of BRICS.

Vice-Rector Stepan Bykov made a presentation at the Rectors' Forum on the projects implemented at INRTU to support Russian as a foreign language. He shared the university's experience in organizing a summer school of Russian language and arts, internship programs for foreign students, as well as professional development courses for Russian teachers.

Heilongjiang University is the first language university founded by the Communist Party and the Chinese Army. It is the leader in the number of trained Russian-speaking specialists. Since September 2023, INRTU and Heilongjiang University have maintained a memorandum of cooperation.
