INRTU Held Concerts and Olympiads Under the Days of Mongolian-Russian Friendship
INRTU delegation visited Selengin, Middle Gobi and South Gobi aimags within the Mongolian-Russian Friendship Days. The visit program included Olympiads for schoolchildren, classes for Russian-language teachers. The Kalina Russian song ensemble and the Shagi school of modern choreography also joined the tour in Mongolia.
The INRTU delegation was headed by Asya Kontrimovich, Director of the Center for International Services. She highlighted that the aimags administration showed interest in the INRTU-provided educational programs, as well as training and retraining programs for engineers.
"The Governor of Selenga aimag, Natsagdorzijin Lhagvadorj, is interested in training power engineers. That is why we proposed to conclude an agreement with the Intersectoral Regional Center for Professional Development and Retraining of INRTU Specialists. We also drew our colleagues' attention to the En+- initiated program.
South Gobi Aimag is known as a copper mining area, so mining engineers, power engineers, and construction workers are of great demand there. Governor Renchinbyambyn Seddorj acknowledged that an agreement between INRTU and the Aimag Department of Science and Education could be a good start for cooperation," Asya Kontrimovich informed.
Ekaterina Karpets, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Humanities, Baikal School of BRICS, held workshops for Russian-language teachers. The trainees updated their knowledge in teaching speech activities - reading, speaking, listening and writing. About 100 teachers fr om Mongolian schools attended the classes.
"The colleagues, especially the older generation, have a sound philological background. However, they are faced with the limitation on Russian language classes in schools. Therefore, effective teaching techniques are particularly emphasized. I invited all Russian language teachers to the summer professional development school, which has already been successfully attended by more than 50 people over the past two years," noted Ekaterina Karpets.
Anastasia Kostina, a leading specialist of the International Admission Office, offered schoolchildren to test their knowledge in mathematics, physics, social science and chemistry. About 500 high school students took part in the subject Olympiads. The winners of intellectual contests will get a chance to study at INRTU under the Russian government scholarship.
The Shagi school of modern choreography directed by Inna Chernykh and the Kalina Russian song ensemble directed by Irina Dolotova joined the tour in Mongolia.
"We have performed in Mongolia before. Earlier we received a very friendly welcome from the audience in Erdenet, wh ere we went together with the Department of Mine Surveying and Geodesy, and in Ulaanbaatar. This autumn the Kalina members were lucky to travel all over Mongolia and perform Cossack and Russian folk songs for the amiable schoolchildren. The Mongolian children learned that INRTU is not only about studying, but also involves an active creative life," said Irina Dolotova.
