INRTU and Beijing Transport University Enhance Cooperation
On November 17, INRTU and Beijing Transport University (Beijing Jiaotong University, Tangshan city, China) signed a cooperation framework agreement. It aims to expand partnership in the field of education, students and teachers exchange.
Among the members of Beijing Transport University (BJTU) delegation at INRTU, there were Jing Tao, Vice President for International Affairs, Li Xuewei, Professor of the Department of Economics and Management, Zhu Xiaoning, Dean of the Department of Higher Education, Liu Yenqing, Dean of International Education Department, Gao Bo, researcher of the Department of Computer and Information Technologies, and Wu Dandan, lecturer of the Department of Languages and Communication.
The parties agreed to expand international educational options for undergraduate and postgraduate students, to promote highly professional cooperation in R&D field, and to facilitate information and culture exchange.
Alexander Kononov, Vice-Rector for Research, emphasized that INRTU attaches great importance to cooperation with other universities:
"Our University is a participant of the Priority 2030 federal program aimed at the development of universities. For the benefit of the regional industry, we are implementing two strategic projects. One of them focuses on the development of deposits exploration techniques to replenish the mineral resource base. The other project is related to the development of advanced technologies for aircraft engineering and mining.
The university staff for transport planning have implemented a number of successful projects with colleagues from Germany. We are looking to cooperate closely with Beijing Transport University upon the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI)”
Vice President for International Affairs Jing Tao expressed his gratitude to INRTU students for the warm welcome and noted the great potential for Russian-Chinese cooperation outlined by the heads of two countries. He also emphasized that the universities should pay special attention to projects for transportation construction and the unmanned systems development. Furthermore, it is a good prospect to engage together in the field of artificial intelligence and big data.
According to Alexander Kononov, INRTU drone developers are interested in the Chinese specialists' experience. What's more, taking into account the emergence of electric and hybrid cars, and other car market innovations, INRTU provides relevant knowledge for future transportation engineers.
Stepan Bykov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, thanked the international unit of Beijing Transport University for its assistance throughout the pandemic:
"Due to the substantial help on distance learning by our colleagues, our students had a chance to spend two academic years at the Beijing Transport University."
Recently, six INRTU students studied at this university under the academic mobility program. We are ready to host China's Russian language students for six-month and full-year internships. We also offer a summer professional development program for Russian language teachers of Beijing Transport University."
INRTU has been largely engaged in the promotion of Chinese culture and language. In October the University held the Chinese Culture Week, next - the Confucius Institute is about to be opened.
